1 Significant Tax Environment Changes in France Envisaged French Tax Changes Make The new direction of French tax policy means significant changes are likely to be made to the French tax environment. Business Owners, Entrepreneurs, Fund Managers and Wealth Owners are likely to be affected by increased rates of tax. 4 The Speakers Roland A. Pfister Tavernier Tschanz studied law at the Universities of Neuchâtel and Granada. After the completion of his law degree, he worked for an international law firm in Belgium and a leading investment bank in Zurich, after which he joined the tax department of one of the "Big Four" firms. In 2008, he started to work on his doctoral thesis. In addition, he has an Executive MBA in Wealth Management and was a Visiting Researcher at Harvard Law School. In 2011, he started working at Tavernier Tschanz in Geneva. He is a regular contributor to tax journals, and lectures frequently at Universities as well as postgraduate tax programs. His main areas of expertise include Swiss, Liechtenstein and International tax laws for individuals and corporations including funds, trusts and foundations. Rolf Geier Ernst & Young Lic. iur. at the University of Zurich, Attorney at law; Swiss Certified Financial Analyst and Portfolio Manager; Swiss Certified tax expert. Rolf is a Partner of Ernst & Young s EMEIA Financial Services Organization, heads the Banking & Capital Markets Sector of Ernst & Young Tax in Switzerland and is a Member of Ernst & Young s EMEIA Banking & Capital Markets Board. He has specific experience in hedge fund and private equity fund (manager) relocations, relocations of corporate functions, tax treatment of financial products and capital markets transactions, negotiations with tax authorities and advises clients in other international tax matters. Stéphanie Auféril Baker & McKenzie SCP studied law at the University of Paris V and is admitted to the Paris Bar. Within Baker & McKenzie SCP, Stéphanie is a Partner in charge of the Wealth Management Practice, and is a member of the Wealth Management European Steering Committee. She assists French and foreign individuals in the legal and tax aspects of domestic and international wealth management. She is experienced in estate planning, reorganization of family companies and investments in France. Stéphanie also advises clients in Trusts and life insurance planning. She is currently a member of IACF and is a lecturer at Universities (HEC, Neuchâtel, etc.). In cooperation with LawInContext, she is a trainer for SFAF. She is a speaker at various seminars on international wealth management. She also writes articles in several specialized publications. Astrid Owen Withers LLP studied law at the London School of Economics and Harvard and is admitted to the New York Bar. A native French speaker (born in Belgium), Astrid advises internationally based clients and their family offices, trustees and private banks on international trust, tax and wealth transfer issues, with an emphasis on Continental Europe, the Middle East, the UK and the US.

5 The Speakers Filippo Noseda Withers LLP is a dual qualified English solicitor/swiss lawyer (he studied law at the University of Zurich and the London School of Economics). Fluent in French, German, English and Italian, Filippo heads the International Wealth Planning Group of Withers LLP in London. Withers LLP specialises in compliant tax planning and wealth structuring for international families. Filippo s work in this area has won him international recognition (he advised two separate governments on the introduction of private foundations laws, successfully lobbied the Swiss government in relation to its draft law on the recognition of trusts (subsequently enacted) and took part in an OECD study on the taxation of High Net Worth individuals). Filippo is a lecturer at King s College in London and the University of Muenster, Germany.
