He is also Chairman of Octopus Holdings Limited and Octopus Cards Limited and non-executive Director of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited, Esquel Holdings Inc and a number of NGOs. He spent most of his working career with HSBC and served as Chairman of The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited from 1996 to He graduated from Jesus College, University of Cambridge with a degree in Physics. He has honorary doctorates awarded by the City University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Polytechnic University and honorary fellowships awarded by the Hong Kong Computer Society, the Hong Kong Management Association, the Hong Kong Institute of Bankers and the University of Hong Kong. Dr Carlye TSUI Wai-Ling, BBS MBE JP Dr Carlye Tsui holds the degrees of Bachelor of Arts, University of Hong Kong, and Doctor in Professional Studies, Middlesex University. She has vast experiences in leading professional institutes, management consultancy, international publishing and IT service. She is Chief Executive Officer of The Hong Kong Institute of Directors and serves as Independent Non-Executive Director for listed companies. Her diversified roles in public service include, inter alia, Justice of the Peace; Founding Chairman: Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, The British Computer Society (HK Section); Past Councillor: Urban Council, Wan Chai District Council. She obtained her doctorate at Durham University. She is currently the Deputy Chairman of Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation Limited and Hong Kong Domain Name Registration Company Limited. She recently retired as an Associate Professor in the Department of Electronic Engineering, City University of Hong Kong and is now Consultant and Director of Pearl Technologies Ltd. Ms Chiu is a computer auditor by profession and has over twenty years of professional experience, including information systems audit and controls review, software consulting, system implementation and business management experience. Ms Chiu is Director of Li & Fung Development, China Ltd. Ms Chiu holds position as Director and Past President of Information Systems Audit and Controls Association ISACA (HK Chapter). She is currently the Vice President of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and serves on the government s Antiquities Advisory Board, and Equal Opportunity Commission. He received Master Degrees in Scientific Computing and Financial Engineering from Hong Kong Baptist University and Hong Kong City University respectively. Mr Li currently serves as Vice President of IT Facilities of Deutsche Bank AG, Hong Kong Branch. Mr Li was elected as Secretary of the Hong Kong Internet Service Providers Association from 2006 to He represented the ISP industry to communicate technical and operational views in various occasions, like Wi-Fi security guidelines formation, Copyright Ordinance forum and Legislative Councillor advisory board. Prof Joseph NG Kee Yin Prof Joseph Ng received his BSc, MSc, and PhD in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 86, 88 and 93 respectively. Prof Ng works for the Hong Kong Baptist University as Professor in the Department of Computer Science and is currently the Director of the Research Centre for Ubiquitous Computing. Prof Ng is a senior member of the IEEE, Member of ACM, HKCS, Founding & Exco-Member for the Internet Society Hong Kong and Past Chair for the IEEE, Hong Kong Section, Computer Chapter. Prof Ng served as the Region 10 Coordinator for the Chapter Activities Board & the Distinguished Visitors Program of the IEEE Computer Society. Prof Ng has been actively involved in organising International Conferences and served the editorial boards of numerous International Journals. Mr YOUNG Wo Sang Mr Young Wo Sang is currently working in SecuriTech Solutions (HK) Limited as the Consultant. He has 17 years experience in the IT and Internet industry and has participated the leading edge IT technologies and architectures which include information security, computer forensic, penetration test, network management, storage solution, Internet architecture and networking solutions. Mr Young holds the CISSP, CISA, CEI, CIFI, CHFI, ECSA and CEH. Through Roseville s holdings, Mr Yu found and became Chairman of a financial service group which he listed on the Main Board of the HKSE. 13 香港互聯網註冊管理有限公司 年度報告 CHAIRMAN S STATEMENT 主席報告 Mr John Estmond STRICKLAND 施德論先生 GBS JP 2011 was a year of unprecedented activity for HKIRC 年是 HKIRC 成立以來最忙碌的一年 After much planning and preparation, we finally introduced the Registry/Registrar (R/R) mode of operation which is regarded as best practice in the domain name industry. By accrediting registrars to allow them to provide one-stop shop internet services including.hk domain names to their customers, HKIRC can now focus more on registry functions such as providing a stable and secure DNS (Domain Name System) for.hk and. 香港 whilst facilitating policy and industry initiatives. The number of accredited.hk registrars reached 15 in December Of these, 9 are overseas from Asia, Europe and North America. Of the 6 local registrars, one is HKDNR, a wholly-owned subsidiary of HKIRC. HKDNR was the only.hk registrar until July HKDNR will act as a backup registrar which will provide continuing service to.hk registrants in the event that other registrars discontinue providing.hk registration service. The survey found that Hong Kong netizens could averagely save 20.4% by online shopping. The estimated total saving via online shopping amounts to HK$4 billion for the whole online shopper community in Hong Kong in the past year. Its mission is to facilitate exchange of knowledge and experience to help cctld managers achieve world best practices. The Chief Executive Officer of HKIRC was the Chairman of APTLD from February 2008 to February 2010 and has been the Vice-Chairman since then. Also, such increase do not indicate a trend for the coming years. The Management and Board of the Group and the Company will continue to manage the Group s and the Company s finances with due regard to its public mission, planned institutional changes, and stakeholder expectations.
