1 STXLocationLogo Sales Tax Digest Summary CALIFORNIA S ECONOMIC OUTLOOK Collections through September 2015 Sales through June 2015 (2015Q2) California sales tax receipts increased by 3.8% over the same quarter from the previous year, with Northern California reporting a 3.5% increase compared to 4.0% for Southern California. Receipts for the changed by -.2% over the same periods. The Gap in Inflation between Goods and Services may widen. Because goods account for the bulk of international trade, a stronger dollar keeps prices for goods lower. Sharp appreciation of the dollar over the last three quarters may push the prices of goods even lower in the next few months, widening the gap and impacting Sales Tax Revenues.
