1 February 12, 201fe Office of the City C'erk 200 North Spring Street Room 395 Los Angeles, CA Attn Clerk of the Council APN: CiTY CLtRivi Grr GE 2016 FEB 16 AH 9:57 C1TYCLFRK KY >S. i^poty prct? " To Whom It May Concern L - v*" - \ G - C\tpO_ I am writing in ptotest to the Notice of Hearing I received and the Notice of Pending Lien on my house, located at Friar Street, Woodland Hills, CA The documents I received state that the lien is being pursued due to "code enforcement costs incurred in identifying and investigating the code violations and/or performing the annual inspections..." it goes on to state that "these costs include any relevant late charges or collection fees and interest..the total amount due is $ " I have attached a copy of my check, clearly dated and mailed on April 27, This check was not deposited by the City of Los Angeies until June 21st, yet I am being held accountable because this check was not deposited for almost 2 months after being received by the City of Los Angeles 3y the City holding on to my check it became past due. In early June, 2012 l received a notice that this bill was past due. I immediately phoned the City of Los Angeles at that time to let them know that this nad already been paid and was not owed by me. This phone conversation was confirmed by Alex in Mr Charles Kalibbala's office. Shortly after I placed a call to the City iri June, 2012 notifying them tnat this payment had been made by me months prior yet the check bad not yet been deposited, it all of a sudden was deposited days later. I find it very suspect that right after i call stating they had not deposited my check yet, that the check is deposited. It would certainly appear as though the envelope whicn contained my check was sitting on someone's desk, not yet logged as being received or opened l have attached a copy of the Notice of Hearing documents as well as my cancelled check i trust that this will be viewed as an obvious oversight on the part of the City and the pending lien will be revoked. I am not sure what the next steps are in this process, but if I do not hear back on this matter I will definitely be attending the hearing on February 23, Regards, TIL Kevin Gold Friar Street Woodland Hills, CA Mobile
