It ecourages you to ejoy the outdoors, get to kow more about ature ad wild places, do somethig to look after these places, ad share what you do. It is t a competitio, or a set programme, ad ayoe ca participate. You participate i a rage of activities that meet the followig four Challeges: Discover a wild place Explore it Do somethig to Coserve it Share your experieces Levels of the Joh Muir Award These four Challeges are repeated for each level, with icreased ivolvemet i duratio, activity ad resposibility. They ecourage a progressive ivolvemet. You might: Visit at differet times of day ad ight, i differet seasos, aloe or with others. Travel extesively walk, camp, bike, caoe. Sit, look, liste - egage seses. The Joh Muir Trust also campaigs for greater protectio for wild lad across the UK through a Wild Lad Campaig. Sice the Joh Muir Award was lauched by the Trust i 1997 thousads of people of all ages ad backgrouds have achieved a Award.
