1 Trade Summary LSX got off to a good start this week, improving points to close at 1, points on 31,800 shares traded. The turnover was 158,965,000 kip from the trading of EDL-Gen s and SVN s. Market Summary Last LSX Index (Point) 1, , Trading Value (LAK) 342,160, ,965, ,195,000 Market Cap. (LAK m) 10,808,052 10,948, , Week High/Low /1, EDL-Gen closed 100 kip higher to touch 5,200 kip with 30,900 shares changed hands. Most of EDL-Gen shares were traded between 5,050 kip and 5,100 kip on this Monday. On the other hand, BCEL lost 200 kip to finish at 5,600 kip thanks to technical adjustment as supply overwhelmed demand, putting pressure on the price. In the meantime, SVN closed unchanged at 3,000 kip with 900 shares traded, while LWPC and PTL had no trading with the price unchanged. As part of the efforts, the Bank of the Lao PDR (BOL) in collaboration with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) hosted a seminar on macroeconomic management in Vientiane last Friday. It was designed to enhance the capacity of senior officials to better understand the fundamental concepts of macroeconomic management for financial stability. In addition, the event aimed to strengthen cooperation between the BOL and IMF. The seminar covered a wide range of topics including addressing macroeconomic challenges, tools for macroeconomic surveillance, regional economic development and other issues raised by the participants. 2 Global News South Korean stocks waver after North Korea missile test (CNBC 11:00 am, ) Asian markets were in positive territory except for South Korea which wavered after North Korea said that the test of a new missile type at the weekend was successful and is capable of carrying a nuclear warhead. South Korea's Kospi slipped 0.07 percent, as the market grapples with North Korea's missile test on Sunday morning. Australia's ASX 200 traded up 0.69 percent, supported by its energy sub-index, which was up 1.59 percent and its materials sub-index, which added 2.14 percent. The Nikkei Stock Average added 0.47 percent, after government data showed that Japan's economy grew at an annualized rate of 1.0 percent in the fourth-quarter, supported by solid exports and capital expenditure.
