2 EARLY 90s Within the vegetation management industry, having the right equipment is crucial. In the 1990 s, the available equipment was cumbersome and more suited to the broad acreage and agricultural industry. This type of equipment often used open booms and as a result, contributed to the poor public perception of the type of work Technigro was undertaking. After undertaking research for new and better equipment, the Bloor family realised there were no sprayers available that would match the high standards they had set for their company, nor that would suit the urban environment. This is when they first made the conscious decision to take on the responsibility of developing a sprayer that portrayed an image of safety and that was suitable to work in public open spaces. As a result, the DriftProof Sprayer was born. CLICK TO VIEW DPS VIDEO In the early 90s the DPS was pulled by a ute which was ground breaking in itself as traditional methods were by truck or tractor.

3 LATE 90s The DPS is for the spraying of public open spaces such as parklands, sporting fields and school grounds. Product delivery is precise thanks to a patented ground-hugging shield that contains all of the spray droplets, irrespective of size. This zero drift technology means all product remains on target, vastly increasing public and operator safety. In most instances, spray volumes are also reduced by up to 70% which is good news for the environment. The DPS s lightweight design and robust construction makes it the ideal sprayer for all classes of turf, large and small. 4 2000s Continuously looking for a better way, the idea came about to harness the DPS to a quad bike. The operation of the DPS became even more intuitive. The operator simply drives the quad bike as per normal. Thanks to the WheelHitch, the DPS unit precisely tracks the path of the quad bike, making it more responsive and better behaved in forward and reverse. Leading edge technology is used throughout as typified by this state of the art, lightweight shroud. Made from a composite of carbon fibre, Kevlar and Corecell, it weighs less than one-third the equivalent in steel, yet is much stronger. The DriftProof Sprayer has a patented shield, which keeps spray droplets in, ensuring the product remains on the ground and eliminating spray drift. It also ensures the chemical is evenly distributed over the entire target area. The unique no tools folding system allows the shield to convert from 4m mode to 2m mode to accommodate working within smaller spaces whilst still maintaining zero spray drift. With a total gross weight of 720kg, this sprayer is suitable to work on all grades of turf. The DPS became a legend and took Australia by storm on the New Inventors program. 5 2010s By 2011 Technigro had developed the DPS Mark 5. The innovation started breaking new ground with its launch in Singapore. The concept was well received especially as the DPS is proven to reduce chemical use by up to 70%. Locally the DPS became highly regarded, so much so that it set a new trend in the treatment of public open spaces and the industry began to follow suit. During this time the DPS won numerous awards including the Gold Coast Business Excellence award for it s innovative, sustainable qualities. The DPS is used on sportsfields and parks across South East Queensland and now with Citywide, councils across the Eastern Seaboard have the opportunity to use the industry legend. Key features include: Fully enclosed shield in both large and small area modes resulting in zero drift Unique no tools folding system means the DPS converts from large area mode (4m) to small area mode (2m), quickly and simply Significantly reduced water consumption - calibrated as low as 120L/ha A total gross weight of 700kg which causes less compaction and surface disruption and makes is suitable for all classes of turf Unique folding design and near zero turn allows treatment of difficult to access areas such as enclosed parks Blocked nozzle indicator ensures no missed areas Separate engine allows for pin point calibration with less hassles Foam marking system to ensure even coverage and minimise the product wastage by eliminating overlapping treatments.
