1 retirement checklist Thinking about retirement? Retirement is a major milestone worth celebrating. You ve dedicated your time to Ford and played a big part in its success. In turn, Ford offers a variety of benefits to support a comfortable, secure retirement. Your eligibility for retiree benefits depends on your age, your years of service and/or your hire date. This is your checklist of things to consider, and do, for each benefit offered. Hired before June 1, 2001? Once you ve reviewed the checklist, identified resources and evaluated your personal situation, decide if you re ready to start the retirement process. Each benefit has clear action steps for you to follow to ensure coverage. In most cases, they can be completed online. As always, if you have any additional questions, you can contact the National Employee Services Center (NESC) at General Retirement Plan (GRP) GRP benefits will not begin unless you apply for benefits. Following your termination of employment, you will receive a retirement package from the NESC if you have not already requested one. You can choose to begin your pension benefits immediately following your termination of employment or at a later date. If you do not commence benefits by age 65, you will receive a reminder letter to begin benefits when you reach age 65. In addition to choosing when your benefits will start, you will have your choice of receiving a full lump-sum distribution or a monthly benefit. To receive a lump-sum benefit, you must elect a benefit commencement date that is within 180 days of your termination date. If you are under age 55 with less than 30 years of service and want to receive an immediate monthly benefit, you must also elect a benefit commencement date that is within 180 days of your termination date. Otherwise, you can defer your pension benefit and later elect to commence monthly benefits as early as age 55, or as late as age 65. If you are eligible for a Regular Early Retirement at termination and do not commence benefits at that time, you will have another opportunity to elect a lump-sum distribution at age 65. Note: The interest rates and mortality factors used to calculate the lump-sum amount change every year and will cause fluctuations in the lump-sum amount. The interest rates effective in the following calendar year are determined in August of the present year and are generally updated on myfordbenefits.com by mid-september. Contact the NESC at to 180 days before you want your pension benefit to commence to request a retirement package, or elect to apply online through myfordbenefits.com. You can elect your form of payment by completing the forms in the retirement package or, if you apply online, you can make your election on myfordbenefits.com. If you call the NESC to apply, you will be required to provide the following information: Date you want to commence benefits Commencement date is usually the first of the month following your termination date but may be deferred to a later date. You must have a date in mind at the time you call as the retirement package is personalized with your specific retirement information. Date of birth for you, your spouse (if married) and eligible dependents. Date of marriage. Social Security Numbers for your spouse (if married) and your eligible dependents. Divorce decree or qualified domestic relations order (QDRO), if applicable. You will also be required to provide copies of the following as a part of the application process: Birth certificates for you, your spouse (if married) and your eligible dependents. Marriage certificate. Divorce decree or qualified domestic relations order (QDRO), if applicable. 10/15/18 1

2 Pre-Medicare Retiree Medical Coverage (medical coverage up to age 65) For 2018, you can choose from three pre-medicare retiree medical plan options. Beginning January 1, 2019, you ll have four new medical plan options to choose from. All of these plans are offered by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. Review your choices: For 2018 options, go to fordeguide.com and click the View 2018 benefits tab, then select About retirement then Thinking about retiring in 2018? For 2019 options, go to fordretireebenefits.com beginning October 17, You can also get additional support: Beginning October 24, 2018, schedule an appointment with a Retiree Health Pro who can help you understand your options, answer questions and provide additional support during your decision-making process. For Phased Retirement Plan (PRP) participants enrolling for 2019 benefits in 2018, you ll be able to schedule an appointment after you receive a letter in the mail notifying you that you can make your 2019 benefits elections on myfordbenefits.com. Answer a few questions about your medical plan needs and preferences in the Decision Support Tool and get a medical plan recommendation based on your answers. For 2018, go to myfordbenefits.com to enroll for medical coverage. National Employee Services Center (NESC) at immediately if there are any errors. Pre-Medicare Dental Coverage (dental coverage up to age 65) If you are enrolled in dental coverage at the time of retirement, your coverage will continue through the end of the year. Retiree rates apply. You may change your dental plan at the time of retirement or during the Annual Enrollment period. Review your choices: For 2018 options, go to fordeguide.com and click the View 2018 benefits tab, then select About retirement then Thinking about retiring in 2018? For 2019 options, go to fordretireebenefits.com beginning October 17, For 2018, go to myfordbenefits.com to enroll for medical coverage. 3 Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) for Medicare Participants Ford contributes money on your behalf; you cannot contribute to an HRA. The money in your HRA is tax-free when you receive it and tax-free when you spend it on qualified health care expenses. Each year, you can request tax-free reimbursement from WageWorks of up to $1,800 (you only) or $3,600 (you + spouse) to pay for qualified health care expenses. You do not need to do anything to set up your account; it is automatically started by Ford after you or your spouse enrolls in Medicare. If you waived your medical coverage, you will need to call the NESC at to enroll in the HRA. WageWorks is the claims administrator for the HRA. Shortly after you are enrolled, WageWorks will send you an HRA Participant Guide with the information you need to manage your HRA and request reimbursements. While you are still working and planning for retirement, you can call the NESC at if you have questions about managing your HRA. After you retire, WageWorks is available to take your calls and questions. There is no cost to you to use WageWorks ( ). Any unused money in your HRA at the end of the year will carry over to the following year. You can continue to be reimbursed from your HRA until you and/or your eligible spouse dies. Basic and Optional Life At the time of your retirement, your Company-provided Basic Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) will reduce to a maximum of $25,000. If you are a disability retiree, your coverage will not reduce until age 55. AD&D is no longer provided after age 65. You can continue Optional Employee Life, Dependent Life or Optional AD&D into your retirement. Retiree rates apply. You can reduce your coverage in retirement, but coverage cannot be increased. You do not need to reduce the coverage yourself. Your coverage will be automatically reduced. Retirement is a good time to review your beneficiaries. However, your designated beneficiaries will carry into retirement. If you are enrolled in Optional Employee Life, Dependent Life or Optional AD&D, you do not need to do anything to continue coverage at the current coverage level as long as you continue to pay premiums. To view all of your life insurance benefits, go to myfordbenefits.com. For 2018, if you d like to reduce your coverage level, you will need to contact MetLife at Contact MetLife to ensure continued payment of premiums in For PRP participants who want to reduce their 2019 coverage level in 2018, watch for a letter in the mail notifying you that you can make your 2019 benefits elections on myfordbenefits.com. Then, follow the instructions in the letter to make changes. Your designated beneficiaries will carry into retirement. For 2019, you can reduce your coverage level at myfordbenefits.com or contact the NESC at

4 Savings and Stock Investment Plan (SSIP) All contributions end after you retire (your own contributions and Company matching contributions). You can continue to manage your investments in the plan after you retire. You do not need to do anything to stop contributions; they will end automatically. Visit myfordbenefits.com or contact the NESC to initiate withdrawals, including rollovers. Contact the NESC at to request loan payment coupons or to pay off an outstanding loan. If your vested account balance is $1,000 or more, you can leave it in the plan until you reach age 70½, at which time federally mandated distributions will begin. You can initiate partial, full or installment distributions from your account. If you have a loan, you must pay it in full before requesting a total distribution. If you want to take a partial distribution and you have a loan, you must leave a minimum amount remaining in the account equal to the outstanding loan amount. You can roll over the value of your account to another qualified retirement plan or an IRA. You can continue to make existing loan payments manually after you retire. If you have a loan default in your history, you must pay off any outstanding loans in full after your retirement, or they will also default. Group Legal If you are enrolled in the Group Legal Plan at the time of your retirement, your coverage will continue through the end of the plan year if you pay your premiums directly to ARAG. You will then have an opportunity to enroll in the Salaried Retiree Group Legal Plan during the Annual Enrollment period for a coverage effective date of January 1 of the following year. To continue coverage for the rest of 2018, pay ARAG directly. For 2019, decide if you want to enroll for the Salaried Retiree Group Legal Plan. 5 Group Vision If you are enrolled in vision coverage at the time of your retirement, your coverage will end at the end of the month you retire. If you retire in 2018, you ll have an opportunity to enroll in the Salaried Retiree Vision Plan during the next Annual Enrollment period, and your coverage will become effective on January 1. If you want to continue vision coverage between your retirement date and the end of the current year, you can elect COBRA continuation coverage. If you retire in 2018, decide if you want to continue coverage under COBRA through the end of the year. For 2019, decide if you want to enroll for the Salaried Retiree Vision Plan. Learn more about the plan at fordretireebenefits.com beginning October 17, For 2018, you will receive a notice in the mail with details on how to continue coverage under COBRA through the end of the year. For 2019, you will also receive a notice in the mail about how to continue coverage. You can also follow the steps below: go back to myfordbenefits.com to confirm your elections. Contact the National Employee Services Center (NESC) at immediately if there are any errors. Voluntary Benefits If you are enrolled in any Voluntary Benefits at the time of your retirement, you may continue your coverage as long as you continue to pay the applicable premiums. Coverage may continue as long as you pay the applicable premiums through pension deduction or direct payment to the carriers. To continue paying your premiums for the rest of 2018, contact Mercer at (8 a.m. to 9 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday; 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. ET, Saturday). You can enroll in or cancel any of the Voluntary Benefits at any time of the year. To learn more about Voluntary Benefits, go to myfordbenefits.com. 5
