1 SHAW BENEFITS SUMMARY FULL TIME Shaw CHOICES Eligibility As a full-time employee, you are eligible to join the Shaw CHOICES benefits plan on the first of the month following your hire date. If you are hired on the first of the month, then you are eligible for benefits immediately. You will receive an within 3-4 weeks of your hire date (sent to your work ) that will contain detailed instructions on how to enroll. If you do not enroll, your benefits coverage will default. See the Default Coverage section for more details. Shaw CHOICES Plan Overview Shaw CHOICES is a customizable benefits plan that allows you and your family flexibility to select different levels of coverage to meet your needs. If you choose lower coverage options, you will free up extra credits that can be used elsewhere, whereas if you ve elected higher levels of coverage, you can pay using remaining credits, or through convenient payroll deductions. Once your Health & Dental benefits have been selected, any remaining credits can be placed in a Spending Account (Health Care Spending Account or Personal Wellness Account) or used to pay for life insurance premiums. In addition, during annual re-enrollment, credits can be directed to Shaw s Group Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP). Basic & Limited coverage While Basic and Limited coverage will provide less reimbursement and coverage, you will free up additional credits to use in other areas if you elect either of these options Comprehensive & Enhanced coverage Comprehensive and Enhanced coverage will provide higher reimbursement and yearly maximum, however may require payment through additional CHOICES credits, or through payroll deductions CHOICES Health and Dental Coverage Prescription Drugs No Coverage* Limited Basic Comprehensive Enhanced Tier 1 60% 80% 100% 100% Tier 2 30% 50% 70% 90% Tier 3 5% 20% 40% 70% Dispensing Fee Maximum $8.50 $8.50 $8.50 $12.00 Under our Reformulary drug plan, prescription drugs are classified into 3 tiers. The most clinically effective and most preferred drugs rate as Tier 1, and the less effective and less preferred drugs rate as Tier 3. On the website you can also find if there are comparable drugs that could be reimbursed at a higher level as well as a form for your doctor so you can review your options. Additional Employee Benefits & Savings Opportunities Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) Shaw's EFAP provides confidential, short-term counseling sessions for employees and dependents with referral to longer term and/or specialized services, if required. The program also provides access to a suite of online information, including, financial planning, childcare, eldercare, nutrition, and fitness. Retirement and Savings Plans Employee Share Purchase Plan (ESPP) & Employee Registered Share Plan (ERSP) Employee Stock Option Program (ESOP) Voluntary. Employees may contribute a minimum of $15 per pay up to a maximum of 5% of regular earnings. Employees can contribute to both the ESPP and ERSP at the same time, however cannot exceed 5% total. Shaw matches 25% of employee's contributions. Starting January 1, 2016, to recognize employees longstanding commitment, the Shaw match will increase from 25% to 33% after 10 years of continuous service. After one year of continuous contributions in either the ESPP or ERSP, Shaw deposits its matching contribution amount as a lump sum for those 12 months into your ESPP / ERSP. After the lump sum, Shaw matching contributions will be made monthly. For ERSP, contributions are registered, tax-deductible and tax-sheltered until withdrawn. 1,000 stock options granted to each full-time non-union employee on the first day of the fiscal quarter following the employee's one-year anniversary date. The strike price is determined as the closing price on the day before the quarterly grant. Stock options will vest at a rate of 250 per year over a four-year period starting one year after being granted. Employees are automatically enrolled in the DCPP on the first of the month following two years of continuous full-time employment. Defined Contribution Pension Plan (DCPP) Once eligible, Shaw contributes 5% of your pensionable earnings on your behalf. Employees may make voluntary payroll contributions once automatically enrolled in the plan. Employees choose their investment allocation from the funds available in the plan. Group Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) Voluntary. Employees may contribute through convenient payroll deductions and / or lump sum contributions. During the annual CHOICES benefits re-enrollment, if you elect to direct any leftover CHOICES credits to an RRSP, this is the plan you must enroll in.

Tax-Free Savings Account (TFSA) Voluntary. Employees may contribute through convenient payroll deductions and / or lump sum contributions. Default Coverage Your coverage will default when you choose not to complete a New Hire or Annual re-enrollment event. All credits that remain will default to your Health Care Spending Account (HCSA). New Hire Enrollment Your coverage will default to Single Comprehensive for all Medical and Dental coverages. Life Insurance will be defaulted to minimum mandatory amount of two time, whereas Long Term Disability will default to Comprehensive. All remaining unused credits will default to your Health Care Spending Account (HCSA). Annual Re-Enrollment Your coverage will be defaulted to the option(s) you chose last year, with the exception of your Shaw credits.
