2 2016 Staff Salary Survey Section 2: Annual Salaries of Academic Staff Please provide annual salaries for Academic Staff as of 1st January of the reporting year. All amounts should be entered in your local currency, using numerals, but not including the currency code. To see how job levels/ranks map across the Commonwealth, please see Academic Ranks across the Commonwealth Scales: Scales refer to the basic annual salary at entry level (Bottom of Scale) to the cap for each job level (Top of Scale). Average Salaries: These refer to the overall actual annual salary, i.e. the average salaries of the combined staff at each level. Number of staff: The number of staff is defined as the headcount of staff at each job level/rank. Full-time Equivalent (FTE): Please report salaries as 1.0 FTE, including part-time staff on contracts of 6 months or more. For staff that are less than 1.0 FTE, please annualise their salaries to 1.0 FTE. FTE is defined as intensity x time; e.g. a full-time member of staff working on a 6- months contract is equal to 0.5 FTE, as is a part-time member of staff working on a 12-months contract at 2.5 days per week.
