4 What you need before you start using the Group Insurance premium calculator To use the Group Insurance premium calculator, you need to have the following information: 1. Occupational guide 2. Employer details Employer name Employer state Industry type 3. Adviser details Adviser reference (optional) Commission details 4. Group Life and/or Group Salary Continuance Plan Design details Intended cover start date Group Life (Death and TPD) details such as Sum Insured amounts Group Salary Continuance details such as benefit and waiting period, categories of cover (if any) 5. Proposed Life Insured details Please note: The Group Insurance premium calculator calculates quotes for employer plans with eligible persons. Quotes for groups with more than 100 eligible persons are available and these should be referred to the Group Insurance team by contacting your BDM or by ing Reference details at member level ( e.g. payroll number or member number). There is no need to enter names or surnames here. 5 How to login to Illustrator Step 1: Log into Illustrator by clicking on the OnePath Illustrator icon. Step 2: Enter your address and password and click on OK. Step 3: After logging in, it will take you to the screen below. 4
6 How to access the Group Insurance premium calculator Step 4: From the main menu in Illustrator, select Calculators. Step 5: Under calculators select Group Insurance Premium Calculator. 5
7 Step 6: Select Step 1: Create a new Group Insurance quotation template. Step 7: Enter the employer name. 6
8 Step 8: Click on OK. 7
9 Step 9: After clicking OK, an excel spreadsheet will appear containing the acknowledgements and declarations as part of the Group Insurance premium calculator. Once you have read, understood and agreed to the declaration, place a tick in the box (note: you cannot proceed with the quote unless you have acknowledged and agreed to the declaration). 8
10 Step 10: Save your spreadsheet in your selected file directory. Step 11: You can select the Instructions tab and this will show high level steps on how to complete the Group Insurance premium calculator. 9
11 How to complete plan information Step 12: Select the tab Plan and Categories. It will take you to the worksheet below. Step 13: Enter the plan information here. 10
12 Entering plan information Step 14: Employer name: This should be pre populated with the employer name you entered in step 8. To amend these details, you will need to create a new worksheet again (see step 8). Adviser reference: Employer state: Industry type: Ownership type: Cover start date: Cover types: This is an optional field. You can enter your adviser number here. Select the employer state from the drop down menu. Select the industry type of the employer from the drop down menu. Select the ownership type of the employer from the drop down menu. The ownership is either super or ordinary. This is the intended start date of the insurance cover. This date cannot be before today s date. This date cannot be greater than 90 days from today s date. Enter date in format dd/month/yyyy, dd/mm/yyyy or dd/mm/yy. Place a tick on the cover types the plan requires. Place a tick next to Group Life if the employer requires Death only or Death and TPD. Place a tick next to TPD Continuation Option if the employer requires this option. Place a tick next to Group Salary Continuance if the employer requires this option. Please note: Ensure you select the correct cover type(s), otherwise you won t be able to add this option when you start entering your category information. Commission amount: Enter your commission amount here. It must be a value between 0% and 30%. Once you have finished entering the Plan information, you need to start completing the categories for the employer. You can select up to 6 categories. 11
13 How to complete category information Step 15: Enter category information here. Step 16: In the section below, tick the box Include Category. Step 17: Click on the box Category 1 to start completing your category details. 12
14 Step 18: When you click on the category 1 box, the following screen will appear. This is where you will need to enter Group Life and Group Salary Continuance details for the category. Please note: You can only complete Group Life and Group Salary Continuance IF you have selected these options in step 14 Cover types. For example, if you have only selected Group Life in step 14 Cover types, you won t be able to add Group Salary Continuance here. To be able to remove or add Group Life or GSC, simply go back to Cover types (see step 14) and either place or remove a tick next to the cover type. 13
15 Step 19: Enter the category details here. Category name: Enter the name of the category (for example Sydney staff) Group Life: Group Salary Continuance: Place a tick next to Group Life if Death only or Death and TPD if this cover is required. Place a tick next to Group Salary Continuance if this is required. Please note: You can only select these options if they have previously been selected in step 14 Cover types. For example, if you only selected Group Life in step 14 Cover types, then you will not be able to select Group Salary Continuance here. You can change your selections easily by going back to step 14 Cover types. 14
16 Enter Group Life (Death only or Death/TPD) category information here Step 20 Step 21: Benefit type: Select whether the category requires Death only OR Death and TPD. 15
17 Step 22: Calculation method: Select the method the Group Life sum insured is calculated. Multiple of salary option: Select Multiple of salary/annual income from the drop down menu. A new field will appear called Enter the Multiple of Income to apply. Enter a number that you need to multiply the member s salary/income to calculate a sum insured. For example, if the calculation is 3 x salary, enter the number 3 in the field below. You can enter a value from 1 to a maximum of
18 Step 22: continued Formula-based/Manual option: Select this option if the sum insured is calculated manually or by using a formula. For example, the sum insured may be calculated as 3 x salary to future years of service. A new field will appear called Enter the Formula to apply (maximum 200 characters). Enter here how the sum insured is calculated (for example, 3 x salary to future years of service). Fixed amount option: Select this option if the calculation of sum insured is fixed for the category. For example, if the sum insured for the category is $500,000 Death and TPD, then all members in this category will have $500,000 Death and TPD sum insured. 17
19 When you select this option, two new fields will appear below: Enter the Fixed amount for Death: Enter the sum insured amount for Death cover. Enter the Fixed amount for TPD: Enter the sum insured amount for TPD. Please Note: There must always be a sum insured for Death. TPD cover alone is not available. Death sum insured must ALWAYS be equal to or greater than the TPD sum insured amount. The sum insured for Death and TPD must always be a value of $1 to a maximum of $5,000,000. The Maximum Benefit Level for death cover is unlimited, however the Group Insurance premium calculator has a maximum limit of $5,000,000 for death cover. If you require a Maximum Benefit Level of more than $5,000,000 for Death, please contact the Group Insurance team by contacting your BDM or by ing group.quotes@anz.com. TPD continuation option The TPD continuation Option will be automatically ticked if this was selected in step 14 Cover types. To amend the TPD continuation option, you will need to go back to step 14 Cover types and add or remove the tick from the box. 18
20 Enter Group Salary Continuance category information here Step 23 Enter Group Salary Continuance details in this screen below. 19
21 Step 24: Replacement ratio (this is the Benefit Level percentage or % of salary): Enter a value of the benefit percentage here. The value needs to be between 1% and 75%. Step 25: Salary definition: If the salary that is going to be entered for the members includes Superannuation, then select Income/Salary (includes Super). If the salary that is going to be entered for the members does NOT include super, select Income/Salary (not including Super). A new field will appear when the above option is selected called Superannuation contribution option. Enter an amount here between 0% and 12%. 20
22 Step 26: Waiting period: Select the applicable waiting period for this category. Step 27: Benefit period: Select the applicable benefit period for this category. 21
23 Step 28: Benefit indexation: Select the applicable benefit indexation. If 5% CPI is to be applied, then select yes. If no CPI to be applied, then select no. A value must be selected here. Step 29: Ancillary benefits: Select the applicable additional benefits required for the category. If no additional benefits are required, leave the boxes blank. 22
24 Step 30: Once the Group Life and/or Group Salary Continuance information has been entered, click on the Save button. If any of the fields are blank or completed incorrectly, the errors to be corrected will be displayed. Simply correct the errors and click on Save again. 23
25 Step 31: Once you click on Save, the category details will be populated into the spreadsheet. You can amend these details by simply clicking on the category button. Ensure you save the details changed. Repeat steps 17 to 31 to add more categories. Step 32: Once the plan and category information have been entered, click on the validate button. This validates the plan and category information and also ensures all the fields have been entered correctly. 24
26 Step 33: When the validate button has been clicked and there are no errors, the following message will be displayed. Step 34: When validated, an unlock button will appear below and a validation date. 25
27 How to amend Plan and Category worksheet AFTER validation Step 35: If you would like to amend details for your plan or category information, click on the unlock button. Step 36: The following message will be displayed. Select OK. 26
28 Step 37: After amending details in the Plan and Category worksheet, click the validate button again. A new validation date will be displayed. The Unlock button will appear again. Please note: You cannot start to complete the Proposed Life Insured worksheet until the Plan and Categories worksheet has been validated. When this spreadsheet has been validated, you can always go back to the Plan and Category worksheet and amend by clicking on the Unlock button. Ensure you save your spreadsheet!! 27
29 How to complete the Proposed Life Insured Details worksheet The following worksheet is where all the proposed life insured details are entered. Using your employee source, you can cut and paste the details into this spreadsheet. The fields highlighted below will be auto populated based on the information provided. Entering Proposed Life Insured details Step 38: The ID column is auto populated. You do not need to enter details here. 28
30 Person reference: Step 39: Enter (or copy and paste) the proposed life insured s reference into this column such as payroll number or member number (you do not need to enter names here). Gender: Step 40: Enter (or copy and paste) the proposed lives insured s gender into this column. 29
31 DOB: Step 41: Enter (or copy and paste) the date of birth for each life insured. State of Domicile: Step 42: Enter (or copy and paste) the state of domicile for each life insured. 30
32 Occupation description: Step 43: Enter (or copy and paste) the occupation or occupation description for each life insured. Collar type: Step 44: Using the occupational guide, select the collar type for each life insured. Please note: (a) that there should be no employees involved in hazardous occupations and (b) no more than 25% of eligible persons are engaged in heavy blue occupations (see Acknowledgements tab) 31
33 Salary/Annual income: Step 45: Enter (or copy and paste) the salary/annual income for each life insured. Category: Step 46: This is the category you created in step 17. Select the applicable category for each life insured. You can select exclude, if there is a member that should not be included in the quote. Note: you can drag here so you don t need to individually enter the category. 32
34 Step 47: Sum Insured (Death): Sum Insured (TPD): You do not need to enter values here if: 1. You have not selected Group Life as part of this quote 2. If you entered the following calculation method options for sum insured (see steps 22): Multiple of salary/annual income Fixed amount This field will need to be entered (or copy and paste) if the calculation method option selected was Formula based/manual (see step 22). Step 48: You will notice that these fields have been auto populated. 33
35 Step 49: Once all the required fields have been entered, click on the validate button. Step 50: If there are no errors, the following information will be displayed. Click on OK. 34
36 Step 51: Once the Proposed Life Insured details worksheet has been validated, the worksheet will be locked and a validation date will be displayed. Step 52: If Group Life was selected, you will see that the sums insured for Death and TPD have been auto populated (unless calculation method was selected as Formula/Manual). In the following example, the calculation method was set to 3 x salary/income. 35
37 Step 53: If Group Salary Continuance was selected, you will see that the GSC monthly benefits have been calculated. Step 54: GSC monthly benefit Max reached The maximum GSC monthly benefit is $30,000 per month. If a Life Insured exceeds a monthly benefit of $30,000, the premium calculator will automatically set the GSC monthly benefit to the maximum amount. Under the column max reached, it will say yes. Step 55: Age at cover start: The Age at cover start date is also automatically populated. This is the Life Insured s date of birth at the Cover start date (entered in the plan and categories worksheet). 36
38 Step 56: Occupation rating: The Occupation rating is also automatically populated for Death, TPD and GSC. Occupation rating 1 Professional Occupation rating 2 White Collar Occupation rating 3 Light Blue Collar Occupation rating 4S - (Group Life) and 4 (GSC) Heavy Blue collar (Skilled) Occupation rating NA Heavy Blue Collar (High Risk) Please note: (a) that there should be no employees involved in hazardous occupations and (b) no more than 25% of eligible persons are engaged in heavy blue occupations (see Acknowledgements tab) Step 57: If there are any errors in the spreadsheet, these errors will be highlighted (see How to correct validation errors in the spreadsheet on page 48). 37
39 How to amend Proposed Life Insured Details worksheet AFTER validation Step 58: If you need to amend details, after you have validated the worksheet, click on the Unlock button displayed below. Step 59: The following message will be displayed. Click on OK. 38
40 Step 60: Amend the Proposed Life Insured details and click on the Validate button again. A new validate date will be displayed and the unlock button will appear again. Please note: You will not be able to submit the spreadsheet for a quote unless the Plan and Category worksheet and Proposed Life Insured details worksheet have been validated and saved. 39
41 How to submit your spreadsheet to receive a Group Insurance premium quote Step 61: Once you have completed and validated your spreadsheet, you are now ready to submit your spreadsheet for a quote. Submit your spreadsheet for a quote, by logging into Illustrator. The screen below will be displayed. Step 62: Select the Calculators tab. 40
42 Step 63: Select Group Insurance Premium Calculator. Step 64: The following screen will be displayed. Select Step 2: Generate a Quotation from a finalised quotation template. 41
43 Step 65: Click on OK. Step 66: When you click on OK, it will take you to the drive where you saved your spreadsheet. Select the spreadsheet you completed (this is automatically saved as an XML file). 42
44 Step 67: Click on Open. Please note: You need to submit the spreadsheet on the same day as you validated it. This ensures that the most up to date data is being used to calculate the premiums. If you created and validated the spreadsheet on a previous day, you will need to validate the spreadsheet again prior to submitting the spreadsheet. Step 68: The Group Insurance premium calculator will then generate a Quotation Summary (this may take a few seconds). The Quotation Summary is also automatically saved in the drive where you saved your spreadsheet. 43
45 Step 69: If Group Life was selected, the Group Life Quotation summary is generated. 44
46 Step 70: If Group Salary Continuance was selected, the Group Life Quotation summary is generated. 45
47 Step 71: Once you are happy with the quote, with: The quote number (see below for the location of the Quote number) Instructions A representative of the Group Insurance team will then be in contact with you. 46
48 How to amend the spreadsheet after you have submitted the spreadsheet for a quote After you have submitted your quote (and received a PDF Quote summary), you can return to your spreadsheet anytime and amend details. For example, if you wanted the same employer plan but wanted a number of quotes with a different commission amounts or with different GL and GSC arrangements, by: simply accessing your spreadsheet unlocking the Plan and Categories spreadsheet spreadsheet amending your plan and/or categories details validating the Plan and Categories spreadsheet validating the Proposed Life insured spreadsheet saving your spreadsheet submitting your quote again. Similarly, you can change any details in the Proposed Life Insured Details spreadsheet also by: simply accessing your spreadsheet unlocking the Proposed Life Insured Details spreadsheet amending your Proposed Life Insured Details spreadsheet saving your spreadsheet submitting your quote again. 47
49 How to correct validation errors in the spreadsheet Acknowledgements worksheet errors The following error will be displayed when the acknowledgement box is left unticked. Ensure you understand and agree to the acknowledgements and declarations by ticking the box highlighted below. 48
50 Plan and Categories worksheet how to correct validation errors Plan errors If any of the highlighted fields below are left blank, the following error is displayed: Validation failed. Please amend all highlighted errors before attempting to revalidate. Ensure the fields are completed by selecting the applicable option from the drop down menu. Cover start date error The following error is displayed if the Cover start date is entered incorrectly: The cover start date must be a valid date it cannot be before today s date and cannot be more than 90 days after today s date. Ensure you enter a date that is NOT before today s date and does not exceed 90 days after today s date. Group Life and GSC errors The following error is displayed if no selection has been made: At least one (1) Plan must be included to validate the Plan-level information. Ensure you tick Group Life or GSC (or both). 49
51 Commission error If a value is entered in the Commission field that is not between 0 30%, the following error is displayed: Please enter a Commission amount between 0% and 30%. Ensure you enter a value between 0 30%. Category errors In the category section, it will not let you enter Group Life or GSC details UNLESS you have selected this in the Plan information. In the screen below, Group Life has not been ticked. In the category section, the Group Life is greyed out, which means, this field is unavailable as this was not selected in Plan information. You can select Group Life if you go back to Plan information and place a tick. Group Life field is greyed out as Group Life was not selected in Plan information. Similarly with GSC, if GSC is not selected in plan information, this will not be available. 50
52 Group Life category errors Calculation method error Multiple of salary/annual income The error below will be displayed if the value entered for Enter the Multiple of Income to apply is NOT between 1 and 15. Value needs to be between 1 and
53 Calculation method error Formula based/manual The following error will be displayed if no formula is entered in the field Enter the Formula to apply. A formula for the calculation of sums insured needs to be entered here 52
54 Calculation method error Fixed amount no TPD amount entered The following error is displayed when Benefit type is Death and TPD, but no dollar amount is entered for TPD. Simply enter a TPD amount. Ensure that it is either equal to or less than the amount for Death. Benefit type is Death and TPD, but no TPD sum insured amount has been entered. 53
55 Calculation method error Fixed amount Death less than TPD The following error is displayed when Benefit type is Death and TPD and the TPD sum insured amount entered is greater than TPD. Ensure the TPD amount is equal to or LESS than the Death sum insured amount. TPD amount must not be greater than Death sum insured amount 54
56 Calculation method error Fixed amount Death and TPD outside the required range The following error is displayed if the sum insured entered is not between $1 and $5,000,000 (maximum amount). Enter a value that is between $1 and a maximum of $5,000,000 for Death and TPD. Death and TPD amounts must be a minimum of $1 and a maximum of $5,000,
57 Group Salary Continuance category errors Replacement ratio The following error will be displayed if the Replacement ratio is not a value between 1% and 75%. This value must be between 1% and 75%. 56
58 Superannuation contribution option: This field will appear if the salary definition selected is Income/Salary (not including Super). The following error is displayed if the value for Superannuation contribution option is not between 0% and 12%. This value needs to be between 0% to 12%. 57
59 Proposed Life Insured Details worksheet how to correct validation errors How to exclude Life(s) Insured from the spreadsheet If there is a Life Insured in the spreadsheet that you would like to exclude, go to the column category click on the cell under category of the Life Insured you would like to exclude click on the arrow on the right hand side of the cell a drop down selection will appear select exclude. The Life insured will be greyed out. This life insured will not be included as part of the quote (ie will not be included as part of the AAL count or the eligible person count). Life(s) insured with errors The spreadsheet will highlight all the Lives Insured with errors by displaying only the ones with errors. To view all the Lives Insured (and not just the ones with errors), click on the filter button below. 58
60 Place a tick on the blank box, then click on OK. The spreadsheet will then display ALL the members. Life Insured Details errors The spreadsheet will display the Life(s) Insured with errors, highlighting the fields that need to be corrected. The following fields will need to be completed, otherwise, the error below will be displayed: Person reference Gender (needs to be male or female) Date of Birth State of Domicile (ensure you have selected from the drop down menu) Collar Type (ensure you select the applicable collar type using the Occupational guide) Salary/Income Category (ensure you select a category based on the categories you created) Sum Insured Death/TPD. 59
61 Date of Birth errors The following error will be displayed if the Date of Birth field is blank or has not been entered correctly: Date of birth must be a valid date between 01/01/1915 and today s date. If the Life(s) Insured has an Age at cover date that is not between the age of 15 and 64, there will be comment on the cell as displayed below. Place the cursor on the Age at cover start cell and the error will be displayed as per below: Validate Error: Age at cover start is outside permitted age band (15-64). To correct the error: If the date of birth was entered incorrectly, correct the Date of birth under the DOB column You can exclude the Life Insured (see step 46 to exclude a Life Insured). If under Categories, you selected a benefit period of Up to Age 60 and the life(s) insured has an age of 60 at cover start date, the error below will be displayed. Validation Error: The maximum entry age for the selected GSC Benefit period (Up to age 60) is 59. Ensure you have entered the DOB correct and/or entered Benefit Period correctly (under Categories see Plan and Categories worksheet). 60
62 Collar type errors Heavy Blue Collar (skilled) The following error will be displayed if 25% or more of eligible persons have a collar type of Heavy Blue collar (Skilled). To correct the error, ensure that you have allocated the correct collar type. You can also exclude some of the members by selecting exclude under the column Category. Otherwise, as per the Acknowledgements tab, the plan has: (a) No employees involved in hazardous occupations (b) No more than 25% of Eligible persons engaged in heavy blue occupations. Collar type errors Heavy Blue Collar (High Risk) The following error will be displayed if the collar type Heavy Blue Collar (High Risk) : Validation Error: Excluded (Heavy Blue Collar High Risk). To correct the error, ensure that you have allocated the correct collar type. You can also exclude some of the members by selecting exclude under the column Category. Otherwise, as per the Acknowledgements tab, the plan has: (a) No employees involved in hazardous occupations (b) No more than 25% of Eligible persons engaged in heavy blue occupations. 61
63 Eligible person limit (20 Lives insured) not reached A minimum of 20 life(s) insured is required for Group Life and a minimum of 20 life (s) insured is also required for Group Salary Continuance. If the limit is not met, the following error will be displayed: Group Life eligible person limit (2) has not been reached. Group Salary Continuance eligible person limit (20) has not been reached. Please refer to the Acknowledgements tab/spreadsheet. Ensure you have at least 20 for Group Life and/or 20 for Group Salary Continuance. These messages will be displayed when the minimum of 20 eligible persons is not reached Eligible person limit (100) exceeded There is a maximum of 100 life(s) insured for Group Life and a maximum of 100 life(s) insured for Group Salary Continuance. If your employer plan exceeds this amount, please contact your Business Development Manager or group.quotes@anz.com or your Business Development Manager. The following error is displayed if the number of 100 eligible persons is exceeded: Group Life eligible person limit (100) exceeded Please contact your BDM or the Group Insurance Team. Group Salary Continuance eligible person limit (100) exceeded - Please contact your BDM or the Group Insurance Team. Please refer to the Acknowledgements tab/spreadsheet. You can also exclude Life(s) Insured if they are not to be included in the quote. To exclude life(s) insured, see step
64 Proposed Life Insured Details tab cannot be validated The following error message appears when you validate the Proposed Life Insured Details but you have not validated the Plan and Categories worksheet: The Proposed Life Insured Details tab/spreadsheet cannot be validated because the Plan and Categories tab/ spreadsheet is currently Invalid. Please ensure the Plan and Categories tab/spreadsheet is valid before attempting to revalidate the proposed Life Insured Details tab/spreadsheet. To correct the error above, return to the Plan and Categories worksheet. Click on the validate button. 63
