3 Ministry of Coal Coal and Lignite Production Coal Demand and Supply There has been a continuous increase in consumption of coal over the years. Consumption / actual supply of coal (including import) increased from MT in to MT in. The sector wise breakup of actual supply of coal during the period to vis-à-vis the demand as estimated at the beginning of and actual supply from April-December 2015 is given in the table below: Sector (P) Est Demand (Apr-Dec 15) I.
