1 How to find PSEI EIM prices on CAISO s Public Websites EIM Locational Marginal Prices are publically available on CAISO websites. PSEI EIM settlements are based on 3 price types: Intertie Nodes, Generator Nodes, and the PSEI Load Aggregation Point. This document describes how to find all 3 price types. Intertie Node Prices Intertie prices are based on the combination of the intertie node and the scheduling point/tie. Intertie nodes and scheduling point/ties are reported on your Weekly EIM Detail Report in the Fifteen minute market (FMM) imbalance and Real time (RT) imbalance sections. In column A you ll see Schedule imbalances listed by Position name. Position names are made up of the following: the PSE EIM Entity code, the scheduling point, the intertie node, the customer code, EIM, E for export or I for import, and IMB. Position name example: PUG1_BPAT.PSEI_DGAP_BCHA-APND_PSEMKT_EIM_E_IMB BPAT.PSEI is the scheduling point (the POR or POD where the energy entered or exited PSEI s BA) DGAP_BCHA-APND is the intertie node PSEMKT is the customer code E is for export The intertie node starts with DGAP_, followed by the Balancing Authority code that the energy is sourced at for imports and sinking at for exports, and ending with -APND. Some examples are DGAP_BCHA-APND, DGAP_BPAT-APND and DGAP_NWMT-APND. Once you ve identified the scheduling point and intertie node that you want the pricing for, you are ready to go to CAISO s OASIS to find the prices. Go to CAISO s OASIS ( 5/15/17 1 P a g e

2 Hover over the PRICES menu. Select one of the following options: For 5 minute (RTD) intertie prices- Interval Scheduling Point/Tie Combination Locational Marginal Prices For 15 minute (FMM) intertie prices- FMM Scheduling Point/Tie Combination Locational Marginal Prices 5/15/17 2 P a g e

3 Select the applicable Date From, Date To, Node and Operating Hour and click Apply. The display will now show the prices for the applicable Node and various Scheduling Point/Ties. The Interval Scheduling Point/Tie Combination report will show 12 intervals per hour and the FMM Scheduling Point/Tie Combination report will show 4 intervals per hour. 4 Generator Node Prices Every generator in PSEI s BA has been given its own Node. If you don t know the generator s node name that you are interested in, send an to trans.settlements@pse.com and we can provide you the node name. When you have the node name, go to CAISO s OASIS ( and hover over the PRICES menu. Select one of the following options: For 5 minute (RTD) prices- Interval Locational Marginal Prices For 15 minute (FMM) prices- FMM Locational Marginal Prices 5/15/17 4 P a g e

5 Select the applicable Date From, Date To, Node and Operating Hour and click Apply. The display will now show the prices for the applicable Node. The Interval Locational Marginal Prices report will show 12 intervals per hour and the FMM Locational Marginal Prices report will show 4 intervals per hour. Find the price on the LMP line. Load Aggregation Point Prices The Hourly Load Aggregation Point (LAP) Prices are derived from the LMP prices in the 5 minute and 15 minute markets. CAISO calculates the hourly LAP prices and posts them in a spreadsheet. Go to the CAISO Reports and Bulletins website - 5/15/17 5 P a g e

7 Click on the spreadsheet link for the appropriate year A spreadsheet that looks like this will open up. PSEI s LAP is ELAP_PSEI-APND. Find the applicable combination of trade date, trade hour, load aggregation point, and price. You can save your own copy of this spreadsheet and sort the data as needed. 5/15/17 7 P a g e
