4 Overview and Key Findings In August 2016 we surveyed over 200 institutional investors* in regards to Internet of Things (IoT) and its potential for delivering sustainable economic prosperity. This was done in conjunction with our investor briefing: Internet of Things: Entering the Age of the Digicene Key Findings: Over 90% of institutional investors view IoT to be important or very important for delivering sustainable economic prosperity Over 60% of institutional investors view venture and growth capital funds as the best asset class to gain exposure to IoT Energy efficiency and the smart grid are the most important sustainability applications for IoT companies and technologies 25% of investors think the potential for IoT is currently underestimated *See slide #9 for a breakdown of respondents
