SUMMARY DATA Issuer Mirae Asset Global Investments FACTSET ANALYTICS INSIGHT offers yield-focused renewable energy exposure. A YieldCo is a holding company for renewable energy projects that have been spun off by a larger energy utility. Introduced in 2013, these income-focused investments generate cash flow while taking advantage of tax incentives and depreciation to minimize taxes at the corporate level. The fund also holds other firms that generate renewable energy for at least 50% of their revenue, as wells as those that produce, install, operate, or finance renewable energy systems. All holdings must have a trailing yield of 2% or more. The portfolio is market-cap weighted, with a cap of 6% on individual names.while YieldCos are sometimes marketed as MLPs for renewables, note that these firms use a traditional C-corp structure with no inherent tax benefits. Dividends from the fund are taxable. In addition, YieldCos are a tiny market with an uncertain future so uncertain that switched indexes in 2018 to include non-yieldco firms in the renewable energy space.prior to vember 19, 2018, tracked the Indxx Global YieldCo Index.
