18 Milestones in our Company s History The Lower Austrian Raiffeisenkassen found Niederösterreichische Genossenschafts-Centralcasse On 1 January 1899, the predecessor organization of the present Raiffeisenlandesbank Niederösterreich-Wien AG (RLB NÖ-Wien) starts to operate with a single employee under the name of Niederösterreichische Genossenschafts-Centralcasse registrierte Genossenschaft mit beschränkter Haftung. Raiffeisenbank Wien is founded to service clients in Vienna The name is changed to Raiffeisenlandesbank to emphasize its role as a member of the Raiffeisen organization. Over the years, the traditional banking business has been continuously expanded to include other important business areas e. g. the corporate and institutional clients division. Raiffeisenbank Wien is merged with RLB NÖ-Wien RLB NÖ-Wien, as the principal shareholder of Raiffeisen Zentralbank Österreich AG (RZB), acquires an indirect investment in Raiffeisen Bank International AG (RBI). RBI shares have been listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange since 25 April

Copy date: December 2015 In earlier times, it was a tradition in rural communities to attach a gable cross to the roof of a house to ward off numerous dangers. This symbol was adopted as the trademark of the Raiffeisen organization while Friedrich Wilhelm Raiffeisen was still alive.
