4 MAXIS Global Captive Solution As a multinational business you may find that a captive insurance company is the best option for creating and administering a global risk management programme. Captives are an ever-growing part of the employee benefits landscape and our MAXIS Global Captive Solution provides highly efficient risk management for a multinational employer looking to set up an employee benefits captive programme. As the employer, you retain the underwriting profit while gaining access to our strong technical expertise, local-to-global coordination and comprehensive financial data analysis. The basics With a captive, the risk of local policies in scope is ceded to a central reinsurer, and then retroceded to the multinational employer s captive insurance company. All types of insurance coverage can be placed into a captive arrangement. The main benefits With our MAXIS Global Captive Solution, the underwriting profit remains with you, the employer. There is also increased flexibility in designing employee benefit plans and the opportunity to improve terms and conditions.

6 MAXIS Global Risk Solution With increasingly complicated regulations and pressure to better manage and anticipate benefit spending, as an employer, you are probably exploring new ways to optimise your worldwide employee benefits. Our MAXIS Global Risk Solution leverages centralised decision making and reinsurance through a longerterm commitment benefitting you, the multinational employer (typically over three years). The portfolio is underwritten at a global level, which enables us to deliver upfront discounts and better terms and conditions. The basics Through reinsurance, your local employee benefits programmes can be combined to form an international pool. Although this is a non-profitsharing arrangement, better pricing and discounts can be delivered in advance this way, eliminating the complexities and the time lag of pool payments. Eligible coverages include any group policies: death benefits for any cause, survivor income benefits, group disability benefits, risk coverages under pension plans, and medical coverage. The main benefits Using the MAXIS Global Risk Solution, employers can achieve stronger global governance and better execute their global employee benefits strategy. Pricing the risk at a global portfolio level means that employers can achieve better terms and conditions. We are also able to provide rate guarantees for any life policies included of up to three years, and potentially improved free-cover limits.

8 MAXIS Global Pool For companies expanding internationally, pooling has been an effective financial arrangement for managing global employee benefit programmes since it was first adopted in the 1950s. Our MAXIS Global Pool combines local benefits programmes into an international pool through reinsurance. This leverages your global purchasing power to deliver stronger risk management, better global governance and potential dividends. The basics Through reinsurance, your employee benefits programmes are combined to form an international pool in a profit-sharing arrangement. Eligible coverages can include any group policies: death benefits for any cause, survivor income benefits, group disability benefits, risk coverages under pension plans, and medical and dental coverage. The main benefits Using our MAXIS Global Pool means you can better execute your global employee benefits strategy while maintaining stronger global governance and control. The MAXIS Global Pool solution is a profitsharing arrangement, with the potential for pool payments if the year-end portfolio balance is positive, based on the aggregate results for all policies that participate in the pool.

13 The basics Healthcare costs are continuing to grow globally with some premiums rising by two, or even three times, the general rate of inflation in some markets 1. While medical inflation and changes in the way in which cover is used are often cited as the key cost drivers, in reality, these represent only a portion of the costs related to your employees health. This includes best-in-class medical reporting, and expert insight into the underlying medical cost drivers and trends resulting from employee and dependent access to health services.
