3 Purpose Provide blanket insurance protection to NUS Students who travel overseas for activities or purposes approved, endorsed, organized, sponsored or authorised by NUS Alleviate hardship on student in event of unforeseen, unfortunate events/ accidents whilst on overseas MARSH 2

4 Overview of Blanket Travel Insurance Program for Students Name of Insured: National University of Singapore Period of Insurance: 1 July 2018 to 30 June 2019 Per Trip Duration: Basis of Coverage: Terrorism Cover: Insurer: Up to 730 days (inclusive of personal deviation before and immediately after an Official NUS Student Trip, up to maximum 60 cumulative days). Any personal vacation taken during Official NUS Student trip will not form part of the 60 days personal deviation. 10 Travel Enquires Which of my trips will be covered by NUS Annual Student Travel Insurance Policy? Travelling Overseas for activities or purposes, Approved, Endorsed, Organized, Sponsored or Authorized by NUS Trips must commence and end in Singapore and not exceeding 730 days in all (inclusive of 60 cumulative days Personal Deviation immediately before and/or after the Official NUS Student Trip) What do I have to do get this cover? If trip meets the criteria, no action is required. However, do keep proper record of approval (writing, s, other documents,etc.). Insurers will require these information in the event of a claim MARSH 9

11 Travel Enquires If I go for multiple trips within a year, will I still be covered? Yes. There is no limit to the number of trips you make, so long as each trip is approved/endorsed and not exceeding the trip duration permitted. If I am going for a leisure/ home trip, am I covered? This policy does not cover pure leisure trips. It only covers NUS endorsed trips. However, if you are going for home leave that immediately connects to the Official trip, it can be covered subject to adequacy of personal deviation (60days cumulative) permitted. MARSH 10

12 Travel Enquires If I am going overseas to represent NUS in sports or sporting activities, will I be covered? Yes. Cover is granted for overseas sporting events & tournaments, if Students are representing NUS. BUT there is no cover if students are representing Singapore or other Third Party Organisations. 13 Travel Enquires What is Personal Deviation? Personal Deviation (PD) refer to trips take for personal vacation. Trips for personal vacation taken during the term of the official trips are covered. There is NO capping on the no. of days allowed for PD during the official trip. Personal Deviation is also covered for trips taken outside of an official trip but this is subject to a maximum of 60 days in total. - Travel Insurance terminates upon utilization of 60 days - No cover for balance trip, unless extension for PD is exercised. - Extensions to be activated prior to trip departure with appropriate additional premium paid - Once Extension activated, no refund premium will be allowed, should you decide to cancel or shorten your trip. - Additional Premium applicable is S$20/- per block of 10days or part thereof MARSH 12

14 Travel Enquires Is there any excess under this insurance policy? Yes. An excess of S$50 for each and every claim is applicable in respect of the following benefits: (i)medical Expenses with Return Treatment (ii)loss or Damage of Personal Baggage & Property; and (iii)loss of Personal Money & Travel Documents [ Excess is the amount of the claim to be borne by the Insured Person] If I am unwell, which are the Clinics or Hospitals that I can visit? 16 Travel Enquires If I need to apply Visa, how do I go about getting this? Please complete the Certification for Visa/Permit Application Form (refer to website) and a copy to Marsh. We will arrange for a Certificate of Insurance (COI) to be issued which will facilitate your application of the Visa. My travel dates are not confirmed as yet. I may consider to take a short holiday after my official trip but these are not fixed yet. What dates should I put in the Certification for Visa/Permit Application Form For the purpose of the issuance of the COI, whether for application of visa or residence permit or for submission to the host university, tentative dates are fine as long as these are sufficient to meet the requirements of immigration or the host country or university.
