2 OVERVIEW Accelerated Underwriting and ZipApp Licensing & Commissions New Business Technology & Processing Underwriting 2

3 ACCELERATED UNDERWRITING All Level Term applications $500,000 or less, ages 18 to 60, and all rate classes will benefit from our Accelerated Underwriting process Agents can drop a ticket through ZipApp or by traditional paper applications submitted directly to SBLI No applications are redirected to a traditionally underwritten process with a paramedic exam no paramed visit required for your clients! Underwriting decisions are made quicker and the cycle time has been expedited 3

4 ZIPAPP SBLI S DROP TICKET OPTION Agent Fulfillment Center SBLI New Business Selects product and rate class and provides a quote Prepares client for interview with the fulfillment center and exam Completes the ZipApp Ticket Checks status Completes Part 1 and 2 of the application packet Captures signature(s): either voice, electronic or wet Schedules exam (non-au cases) esubmits application to SBLI Application reviewed for underwriting decision If approved, policy delivered 4

5 TELEMED INTERVIEW A telephone interview will be conducted by a courteous insurance professional and whenever possible, on the day and time requested. The client s responses will be used to complete the life insurance application. The typical interview lasts minutes. ZipApp 1 Step Paperless Solution Drop a ticket through ApplicInt and then the fulfilment center takes over. Remember to note a convenient time for the Part 1 and 2 telephone call with your client and indicate this time on the ticket. Traditional Paper Application If the broker prefers paper, just submit the completed Part 1 directly to SBLI as you normally would for any new business application. The GA schedules a Part 2 Telemed interview through their chosen vendor s website, EMSI Online or APPS Live. 5

Post- appointment license verification handled via NIPR 6

7 LICENSING CONTINUED Agent Set Up checklist: Acts as checklist for GA Captures key contact & set up information for SBLI, such as commission schedule, etc. CRITICAL-include case manager to ensure NB/ UW contact Appointment prerequisites: Errors & Omissions coverage Declaration page not required if E&O section of bio form 100% complete Anti-money Laundering Training: Offered through LIMRA If needed please indicate this in the AML section of bio form Current licensing turnaround time: 24 to 48 hours 7

8 COMMISSIONS Method/ Frequency: paid on an as earned basis paid weekly via EFT (Schedule available on website) Statements: Agent statements available via link on Agent Site Agency reports available weekly by Assignment: Can be assigned if assignee is appropriately licensed Contact Information: Phone: option 3 sblicommissions@sbli.com 8

9 NEW BUSINESS New Business Process: Submit via Paperclip, Inteleysis, , fax or regular mail ( / fax same as for Licensing) Submissions received before noon scanned same day Submissions received after noon scanned next day Applications reviewed for completeness Order APS based on face/ age/ last doctor s visit (4 days to website) Team concept: File building Dedicated team of case coordinators and underwriters Case coordinator reviews file with labs; creates requirements for missing information and performs preliminary underwriting Part I Amendments We can amend the application if information is missing on part 1 under section J of the application 9

10 NEW BUSINESS Action Required and Updated information: Action Required on sbliagent.com and Agency Works is a two way communication system which allows you to respond to the requirement right from your desktop. Click the icon to respond. Your message will be sent directly to the appropriate case coordinator Updated information is simply notifying you of a change Letters and requirements: Only posted on website for broker review and handling, never sent to brokers or clients All cover letters are addressed to the client and are posted to our website in the event that you would like to utilize them. Delivery requirements: Delivery requirements will be created if required Delivery requirements will be printed with the policy package at time of issue 10

11 NEW BUSINESS CONTINUED Future dating If no premium or insufficient premium is received with the application we will future date 20 days from the day of approval unless it will change the age If an age change would occur, we will date policy to save the age Change in class Requirements will be updated with reason for change policy will be sent to issue (only if not rated ) Rating An action required requirement will be generated (response required). The reason for the rating will be provided with the requirement and will be included in policy when policy is issued. Declined incomplete if no response in 10 days, unless extension is requested through case coordinator Credit card Initial premium only (MasterCard & Visa only) If change in class or rating, we will remove and direct bill the client. (Client may still choose to pay via credit card but a new authorization would be required.) 11

12 NEW BUSINESS CONTINUED Credit card or EFT rejection: Website requirement created to that effect notification to you that file is now issued not paid as part of enhanced communication Copy of the lab results: Available to client on Exam One website (Applicant.ExamOne.com) Examiner will provide instructions at time of exam After registering online, the client will be notified via when results are ready 12
