7 Risk Management Exposure Data How do we use pre-claims exposure data to support safety programs? Place Evaluate the physical environment to determine if there are safety concerns. Conduct inspection when moving into new facility Evaluate employee concentrations; could a safety issue impact a large number of employees at once? Evaluate field conditions for certain job classifications; are the procedures, PPE and other factors adequately addressing field safety exposures?

Risk management updates its data annually Work with HR to be looped in when: There is a new or changed job description A large number of hires is planned for a class of employee or department There is a co-employment exposure a vendor is providing employees to work onsite alongside your employees

Failure Mode and Effects Analysis Instead of a what happened analysis, conduct a what could happen analysis of a new or changed exposure to explore possible incidents and losses, and evaluate safety and loss control plans that will respond.
