The names, skills and experience of other main people involved in this project. How this project fits in with your current work and its future development. If your project is to be presented, where and when will it be presented 2 How the public engages with your project Who are the people the project will reach out to (for example, the audiences or people taking part), stating whether these people would normally engage with the arts. How you will reach out to your target audience (share your press and marketing activities). 3 Financing Your budget for the project. How you would finance your project. 4 How the project studio will be used during this rental period for your project Description of how you plan to use the space. Do highlight activities that are open to the public. Broad timeline for completing your project If you are planning to conduct activities that generate revenue (e.g. workshops / classes / performances), please provide a weekly schedule of such activities. If you are planning to use the space for exhibitions from time to time, please provide your estimated dates for your exhibition(s) during your hiring period. 5 Affordability and accessibility of paid programmes conducted in the space If you plan to conduct classes / workshops / performances in the space, please share with us your proposed ticket prices / fees. As this is a community space, prices should be affordable to the general public. As such, please provide comparisons with other similar classes / workshops / performances available in the market as a comparison. 4 Terms and Conditions of Venue Rental at Goodman Arts Centre Payment 1. The payment terms are as follows: 50% non-refundable deposit payable upon acceptance of the Letter of Offer and issuance of invoice 50% four weeks prior to the event day/set-up/rehearsal and upon issuance of invoice All cheques should be crossed and made payable to Arts House Ltd. Booking and Cancellation of Venue(s) 2. All venues booked under the Letter of Offer will be automatically released and the acceptance of the letter of offer is deemed void if the deposit is not received seven (7) business days after the issuance of the first invoice (based on the invoice date). 3. The Place Manager (PM) accepts no responsibility for any cancellation by the Hirer and the deposit made is non-refundable. If notice of cancellation is given less than four (4) months prior to the event, the full payment would be levied on the Hirer. 4. If full payment is not received four (4) weeks prior to the event, the PM reserves the right to release the venues booked. 5. The PM reserves the right to advance, defer, terminate or cancel any confirmed venue bookings in the event where supervening circumstances make it necessary for the PM to do so. In such an event, the PM will endeavour to give the Hirer as much notice as reasonably practicable. The PM will refund the deposit paid by the Hirer if the PM cancels the booking or the Hirer declines a rescheduling of the dates. Save as aforesaid, the PM (Arts House Ltd) nor the National Arts Council shall not have any liability to the Hirer for any loss or damage arising from the exercise of the rights herein. 6. The venues shall not be used for any purpose or in any manner that, in the opinion of the PM, may become a nuisance or may give cause for complaint from other occupants of the building or the public. In this regard, the opinion of the PM shall be final, conclusive and binding on the Hirer. The PM shall have the right to terminate the whole or any part(s) of the event which it deems unacceptable and no claims for damages, losses, costs, expenses or otherwise whatsoever shall lie against the PM (Arts House Ltd) or the National Arts Council on the account of such termination. Contents of the Event 7. Events held at the venues shall not: Erode the core moral values of society including but not limited to the promotion of permissive lifestyles and depictions of obscenity or graphic sexual conduct Denigrate or debase any person, group or class of individuals on the basis of race or religion, or serve to create conflict or misunderstanding in Singapore s multi-cultural and multi-religious society Disparage or demean government bodies, public institutions or national leaders and/or subvert national security or stability Be offensive or obscene in nature or derogatory or defamatory to any third party or bring any dispute to or prejudice Goodman Arts Centre in any way whatsoever Page 4
5 Food & Beverage Catering 8. The PM requires the Hirer to use the food & beverages services of our list of official caterers appointed by the PM. 9. Should the Hirer decide to use an external caterer, a surcharge of $800, or 10% of the final catering bill (whichever is higher), will be imposed by the PM. 10. Details of the external caterer have to be submitted to the PM for their reference, and a subsequent briefing of standard operating procedures will be done by the PM. Security Deposit 11. The Hirer is to place a refundable deposit (cheque should be crossed and made payable to Arts House Ltd. ) with the PM at least 4 weeks prior to the set-up/rehearsal or event date. The amount of the deposit is as follows: One venue space : $150 Two venue spaces : $300 Three venue spaces : $400 Four venue spaces and above : $500 Security deposit for Black Box is at $500 Security deposit for Project studios will be as follows: Rental for 1-6 months : 1 month of rental rate Rental for 7-12 months : 2 months of rental rate 12. The PM reserves the right to enter the premises at all times to inspect and, if appropriate, determine the damages to the venue, damages and/or loss of equipment/furniture/fittings as well as the state of cleanliness of the venues (after the event). If there is no damage or loss, and the venues are cleaned, the PM will refund the deposit(s) to the Hirer. If there are damages and/or losses or if the venues are not cleaned, the PM will take necessary action to rectify the damages, losses and/or clean up the venues. All costs due to cleaning, rectification works and replacement of lost assets will be borne by the Hirer and will be deducted from the deposit(s). If the cost of cleaning, rectification or replacement is higher than the deposits, the Hirer is required to make the additional payment. The additional payment is to be made within five (5) business days after being informed of the repair, purchase and/or cleaning cost(s). Failure to make the additional payment may result in legal action. Note: The above terms and conditions and rates are subject to change without prior notice. Page 5
