Implementation will be carried out through a number of discrete phases, for audit and control purposes. The actual number and duration of phases will be agreed with the suppliers as part of the implementation plan and schedule. Implementation Phase 1 will include installation of the core cabling and network infrastructure, together with installation of some pilot/priority user areas. 4 Further phases will continue until all the requirements and scope have been addressed (current target date October 2010). This is estimated at today s costs and therefore makes no allowance for effects of inflation during the project. It is also based on the following assumptions: Project management costs can be absorbed within the total budget External consultancy costs can be absorbed within the total budget No significant increase in USD:GBP Exchange Rate There is no specific contingency built into the budget In addition to the approved budget, there is a budget tolerance of 500,000 before a request for revised authorisation (RRFA) needs to be submitted. 5.4 KEY PROJECT DELIVERABLES The following key deliverables will be produced from the project: Project Initiation Document Investment Appraisal (this document) Requirements Specification Invitation to Tender Supplier Tenders Network Upgrade Project 4 of 5 Date printed: 25/01/2008
