1 , Nepal District Report Dolakha 21 June to 5 July 2018 Activity Contact Person Reference Document Training for Social Mobilizers on Community Mobilization for Reconstruction held: NRA DLPIU organized a 5 Days Training for Social Mobilizers on Community Mobilization for Reconstruction (2-6 July) for Social Mobilizers in district. The training has been facilitated by the NSET Baliyo Ghar Program supported by the USAID Nepal. Total 28 participants(17 females and 11 males social mobilizers from Caritas Nepal, Rural Development Tuki Association(RDTA/TUKI), Educate the Children(ETC), Rural Reconstruction Nepal(RRN), NSET Baliyo Ghar Program have been participating in the training programme. Bhimeshwor Municipality s third Municipal Council completed: Bhimeshwor municipality s third municipal council completed. Nearly 80 crore budget has presented for Fiscal Year 2075/076. Further, the budget was allocated in agriculture, infrastructure, livelihood, sports, GESI, child development etc. Jiri Municipality s budget publicized: Jiri municipality has publicized its budget of Fiscal Year 075/076. Nearly 40 crore budget has been earmarked in different sectors. Additionally, Clean, Green and Organic Jiri has been the motto of the budget. Religious tourism, homestay, livestock farming, track opening of new roads are some of the programmes of the budget. 5 July 2018 Page 1 of 5

2 , Nepal 50 Days OJT s Learning and Experience Sharing Workshop held: NSET Baliyo Ghar Program and Training Center Nepal (TCN) jointly organized one day learning and experience sharing workshop on 50 days On the Job (OJT) Training in district. District level local level representatives, NRA, DLPIU officials, masons, Partner Organizations, journalists, civil society leaders and other stakeholders participated in the workshop. Melung Gaunpalika s policy,programme and budget publicized: Melung Gaunpalika has publicized its policy programme and budget for FY 075/76. Nearly 40 crore rupees budget and programme has been endorsed by the village council. Importantly, agriculture sector has been prioritized in the budget. One house, one tap, one toilet programme has been endorsed in the budget in WASH sector. Monitoring completed of ECARDS programme: ECARDS Dolakha has completed the programmes of the ECARDS Dolakha supported by the TDH Germany by the stakeholders. It has been working in livelihood, WASH, agriculture, school construction in Bhimeshwor Municipality-1, Sushpakshmawati and Kalinchowk Gaunpalika-9, Sundrawati.It has been constructing school building in Manedanda Basic School with toilet and compound with nearly 90 lakh rupees project cost. Further, it has distributed 18 saplings of Kiwi to the 25 farmers. Moreover, it has supported in tomato farming; 5 July 2018 Page 2 of 5

3 , Nepal vegetable collection center and cold store; environment friendly toilet. The monitoring team included DCC member, Senior Livestock Development Officer, journalists and others. Mason Training completed in Jilu: Bhimeshwor Municipality organized 50 days mason training in Bhimeshwor municipality-4, Jilu from the support of NSET Baliyo Ghar Program. 4 females and 4 males were participated in the training. DSSS/Concern Worldwide programme monitored: Projects on disaster risk mitigation and water and sanitation continuous support project implemented by Deepjyoti Samaj Sudhar Sangh (DSSS)/Concern Worldwide has been monitored by the local level representatives, journalists and stakeholders in the district. The projects have been implemented in 3 Gaunpalikas i.e. Melung, Baiteshwor and Tamakoshi. Disaster risk mitigation infrastructures have been constructed in schools and drinking water projects have been maintained by the project. 5 July 2018 Page 3 of 5

4 , Nepal Field Visit /Joint Field Monitoring Visit Reports Visit 1 Date: 3/7/2018 Location: Lakuridanda Participants from HRRP and Stakeholders Binod Kumar Kalauni Ravi Pajiyar Objective(s) To verify the list of vulnerable households To observe ongoing reconstruction activities To verify the list of vulnerable households Field visit was aimed to verify the data of vulnerable households at Lakuridanda, Bhimeshwor Municipality During the field visit, lists of 36 households have provided to the ward chair to verify them through discussion between locals, ward level representatives and ward secretary. The discussion resulted, more than 55% HHs has completed the construction, 1% has not started yet and remaining 40% has started their construction of permanent shelter after receiving of their first tranche. Summary To observe the ongoing reconstruction The reconstruction status of Lakuridanda is good in comparison to other wards of Bhimeshwor Municipality. 5 , Nepal Most of the buildings are made from stone using mud mortar and brick in cement in Lakuridanda. Among them, one storey brick in cement mortar buildings are built by SOS under shelter project. During field visit, most of the masons working for reconstruction were from other districts like Sarlahi, Banke and Bardiya. Few of them are trained and others have been using their previous experiences and observation of constructions.
