2 JEEViKA : at a Glance BRLPS registered in 2006 & JEEViKA launched in October The project has its presence in 42 blocks of 6 Districts under BRLP. Flood prone 13 blocks were added in 2010 under BKEFRP. BRLPS designated as State Rural Livelihoods Mission in April, State Perspective & Implementation Plan (SPIP) prepared for rolling out NRLM in Bihar and approved from State Cabinet in Nov, The model of JEEViKA- BRLP approved for scaling up in the whole state under NRLM targeting 1.25 Crore poor HHs by MoRD in Feb, 2012.
3 JEEViKA : Objective Social & Economic Empowerment of the Rural Poor through: Creating self managed community institutions of poorest of the poor and poor households. Enhancing income through sustainable livelihoods. Increasing access to social protection including food security through a greater voice. Self Managed SHGs established, covering at least 80% of the target household At least 50% of those who have received CIF have increased income by at least 30% of the baseline At least 50% of SHG members have reduced high cost debts from informal sources

FOOD SECURITY 27% HHs faced lower food shortage in Treatment Villages EMPOWERMENT 33% more women can sign & 4% more women could read in Treatment Villages. 5% more Women participated in Panchayat meeting in Treatment Villages. 5% more Women visited Health Centers.

14 JEEViKA Experience- MGNREGA PHASE I Pilot Area : Bochaha, Musahari & Meenapur Muzaffarpur. Result : Created man days for 5397 SHG members of 31 VOs receiving wage amount of Rs crore. Out of which,2100 SHG members got 100 days of work. Phase II Pilot Area : Lakhnaur ( Mdh), Musahari ( Muz), Noorsarai ( Nln), Dhamdaha ( Purnia) Implementation Status: Participated in Gram Sabha, JOB Demand Registration & JOB Card campaign organized. Result : Around SHG Women Participated in Gram Sabha and pushed their agenda related to Land & Beneficiary Schemes, Plantation & Vermi Compost. Around schemes submitted.
15 JEEViKA LEARNING - MGNREGA 1. Demand Registration - Village Organization will facilitate its member and ensure that demand get registered. 2. Delay in Measurement Verification - Initially, Community Extension System will be placed (VRPs) to verify the work. Further, certain sample will be taken up for the disbursement of payment. 3.Delay in Wage Payment - Bridge Finance through Village Organization(VO). 4.Participation in Gram Sabha - women participation will be encouraged to participate. 5. Minimum Participation in Individual Land & Beneficiary Schemes - Community Institution will encourage its members to participate in Individual Land & Beneficiary Schemes.

JOB Card Camps will be organized at all JEEViKA blocks. Promoting collective demand registration at all places. Using new MGNREGA schemes Poultry, Goatery, Cattle shelters, vermicomposting etc. Social Audit Committee of Village Organization will be trained for Social Audit of MGNREGA.
