KIGAMBONI BRIDGE Basic facts about Kigamboni Bridge and its approach Roads It is a Joint Venture project between the Fund (60%) and Government (40%) Construction started 1st February 2012 and will end July Name of bridge is Kigamboni Bridge The construction involves Construction of 680m bridge connecting Kigamboni side of Dar es Salaam and Kurasini side. The bridge will have 400m cable stayed bridge (bridge whose weight and the load on it is supported by cables). The other 280m will be the box girder supported on columns. Construction of 2.5 km approach roads. 1km will be on Kurasini side and 1.5 Km will be on Kigamboni side. The road will join the Mandela expressway through elevated free interchange to separate traffic approaching and leaving the junction. The bridge will have six lanes (three on each direction) and two pedestrians/cyclists lanes with width of 2.5 meters (one on each side). There is going to be a toll plaza for controlling and charging of vehicles passing through the bridge. A total of 14 controlled lanes are going to be in this area (seven for each of the two directions). For management of operations of the project, a total of 7 buildings will be built adjacent to the toll plaza, these are:- Administration building; Ambulance, Police and Fire Station; Laboratories; Generator Room 1; Generator Room 2;

4 Weight Bridge Control Room; and Toll Station. The layout/profile of the project from Kurasini side to Kigamboni will be (i) Free interchange above Mandela Road sloping to the level of existing road on each direction; (ii) Ramps sloping towards the TAZARA Railway Bridge passing under it; (iii) Road embankment from TAZARA bridge to the Kigamboni Bridge Abutment on Kurasini side; (iv) The bridge; (v) Road embankment from Bridge abutment on Kigamboni side to toll plaza; (vi) Toll Plaza and the Buildings; and 3. LOAN TO MEMBERS THROUGH SACCOS/AMCOS SCHEME Loans are issued to NSSF members through the SACCOS/AMCOS Qualification of the SACCOS/AMCOS duly registered and operating in Tanzania All or some of its members are NSSF members At least three years in operation Audited Accounts for the last three years certified by COASCO Certified management by Registrar of Cooperative Union Approved borrowing limit from Registrar Board resolution to borrow

6 Loan Limit to a Single NSSF Member Shall be determined by respective SACCOS, however, the requested loan shall not exceed Tshs. 30 million. Limits to any Single SACCOS Minimum Tshs million Maximum Tshs. 1.0 billion Limit to AMCOS Minimum Tshs. 100 million Maximum Tshs. 2.0 billion However, AMCOS is allowed to request a loan for business purpose. Security for the Loan Loans shall be covered 100% by either or a combination of :- Fixed assets of the borrowing entity Guarantee from reputable bank or employer Fixed deposits Insurance covering both principal and interest Combination of the above NOTE: all loans must be insured. 5. Loan to members through Microfinance Institutions Two types of loans will be issued. These are short term loan of 2 years and medium term loan of 5 years. Conditions:- Member must be a

7 a) customer of Microfinance Companies registered and operating in Tanzania; b) must be a registered member of NSSF for not less than six months and should be current in contributions remittance to the Fund; and c) should have applied for a loan in her/his Microfinance and that such application has been approved by the respective Microfinance as per its lending conditions. Microfinance companies The Microfinance should submit the following documents:- a) list of NSSF members who will be beneficiaries of the loan; b) Certificate of Registration from BRELA; c) Trading licences from Ministry of Industry and Trade; d) copy of current Annual Return from BRELA; e) Memorandum and Article of Association; f) Business plan; g) TIN No from Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA); h) Audited Accounts for the past three years; i) Board Resolution to borrow; j) Lending policy of the Company; k) list of Management team and their CVs; and l) Security for a loan.
