Rogers, Chairman Halifax Relief Commission a.ddressed to His Worship with reference to the $565, certificates of the City of Halifax given by the City to the Relief Commissiofu as collateral for loans to t he City was read. The attached letter from Chairman Rogers to me is self explanatory and is submitted for the consideratjon of your Committee, to be embodied in a report to Council.

Parker, City Hall, Halifax, N. S. Dear Mr. Mayor: Confirming the interview I had with you and City Treasurer Hopewell a few days since, I beg to say that this Commission is willing to accept in lieu of its present holdings in the City consolidated fund substitute certificates for the same amount P33able January 1, 1921, thus extending the credit for one year. The Oommission will not now ask for payment of' the accrued interest. During the coming year the Commission' s work will be substantially completed and all outstanding adjustments between the City and the Commission may remain in abeyance in the meantime; and when a final settlement is made interest will be payable only on the balance which mb3 then be found payable.
