Risk Management What insurers are looking for: Well managed and maintained clubs who are aware of the hazards and potential threats posed as an insured. All buildings and property should be kept in good condition and be well maintained. Insurers are increasingly concerned about property that is susceptible to storm and flood damage. Claims history, in particular any trends or patterns in making claims and all actions taken to prevent or mitigate any further or future losses when a claim has occurred or a risk has been identified. Security and Fire protection. The club, dependant on size and financial income, is expected to have adequate intruder and fire alarms in place, maintained, fully operational and, where necessary, connected to a central monitoring station. A good level of perimeter physical security is advantageous. January 20, 2014 30
