TRANSFER FUNDS TO A MOBILE NUMBER & WIN! Campaign Terms and Conditions United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd (271809-K) ( UOBM ) will run a TRANSFER FUNDS TO A MOBILE NUMBER & WIN! Campaign ( Campaign ) from 15 th January 2018 to 11 th March 2018 (both dates inclusive), unless otherwise notified ( Campaign Period ). These terms and conditions shall be read together with the terms and conditions governing UOB Personal Internet Banking and Mobile Services. Campaign Eligibility 1) This Campaign is open to all UOBM Personal Internet Banking ( PIB ) customers aged 18 and above ( Eligible Participants ). 2) The following shall not be eligible for the Campaign:- a) Employees of UOBM PFS-Digital Banking and UOBM PFS-R&DM; b) persons whose accounts held with UOBM are terminated or closed within the Campaign Period; c) persons whose accounts held with UOBM are not active, delinquent or unsatisfactorily conducted as determined by UOBM at its sole and absolute discretion; and d) persons who are or become insane, deceased, adjudicated bankrupt or have legal proceedings of any nature instituted against them. 3) The following persons shall not be eligible to win the Grand Prize for the campaign:- a) All employees (including permanent, contract or temporary staffs) of UOBM, UOBM s subsidiaries and UOBM s related companies. Campaign Mechanics 4) Qualifying Transfer to Mobile Number Transaction refers to transaction with a minimum sum of RM5.00 performed through Funds Transfer to Mobile Number via PIB capped at RM500 on a daily basis ( Qualifying Transaction ). A request for fund transfer to mobile number refers to a request for fund transfer performed via UOB Personal Internet Banking ( PIB ) by the initiating party by 1
submitting the receiving party s mobile number and a one-time withdrawal password. The initiating party is also required to privately notifying the receiving party of the one-time withdrawal password. The receiving party will subsequently receive an automated SMS informing them of the transaction and a URL for receiving a one-time transfer. A redemption of fund transfer to mobile number refers to the receiving party performing a request at the Receive One-Time Transfer landing page by submitting the transaction reference number and one-time withdrawal password. Unique mobile number refers to one mobile phone number registered to an individual. In the event of a repeated transaction sent to the same number, it shall be counted as one (1) unique mobile number. a) Transactions sent ( Transactions Sent ) refer to any qualifying funds transfer to a unique mobile number requested but not necessarily redeemed. b) Transactions completed ( Transactions Completed ) refer to any qualifying funds transfer to a unique mobile number requested and redeemed within 24 hour. 5) Winners for each category of the campaign are defined as:- Category Consolation Prize Grand Prize Requirements Transaction Sent: Top 388 customers with the highest unique number sent (not necessary redeemed). Transaction Completed: Top 8 customers with the highest unique number of completed transaction (sent and redeemed). 6) All Qualifying Transaction made during the Campaign Period must be captured by UOBM s PIB system in order to be eligible for participation in this Campaign. Total Winners 388 winners 8 winners 8) Eligible Participants are only entitled to one (1) Consolation Prize and one (1) Grand Prize during the Campaign Period. 9) The Consolation Prize will be credited into the Winners current or savings account as determined by UOBM within four (4) to eight (8) weeks after the end of the campaign period. The crediting of the Consolation Prize will be reflected in the following month of the Winners statement of account after the date of crediting by UOBM. 10) The Grand Prize Winners will be contacted by representatives of UOBM within four (4) to eight (8) weeks after the campaign period via phone, short message services (SMSes), email or in whichever way deem fit to obtain the Winner s consent for UOBM to disclose the Winners data such as name, contact number and address to the vendor for Prize fulfillment purposes. If the Winner is not agreeable for UOBM to disclose Winners data to the selected vendor, the Winner is responsible in arranging for the prize collection within four (4) weeks from the date contacted at his/her own cost and time, otherwise the Prize will be forfeited. 11) At the time of awarding the Prizes, the Winners current or savings account must be current, valid and subsisting as may be determined by UOBM at its sole and absolute discretion and not in breach of these terms and conditions, the terms and conditions governing the savings account, the terms and conditions governing the current account and the terms and conditions governing PIB and Mobile Services. 12) UOBM reserves the right to:- a) forfeit the Prizes (either Consolation and/or Grand Prize) in the event where there is a termination, suspension or closure of the Winners current or savings account prior to the Consolation Prize being credited into the Winners current or savings account or Grand Prize being delivered to the Winners mailing address or noncompliance or breach of these terms and conditions, the terms and conditions governing the savings account, the terms and conditions governing the current account and the terms and conditions governing PIB and Mobile Services with prior notice without assigning any reason; and b) withdraw, suspend, extend or terminate earlier this Campaign prior to the expiry of the Campaign Period in whole or in part, at any time with prior notice at its absolute discretion. 3
13) Any props, accessories or equipment featured together with the Prizes in all printed materials, website or UOBM branches are for decorative purposes only and shall not form part of the Prize. 14) The Prizes awarded are non-transferable to any other party or parties and not exchangeable for cash, other goods or credit, whether in part or in full. General Terms and Conditions 15) By participating in the Campaign, the Eligible Participants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions, the terms and conditions governing the savings account, the terms and conditions governing the current account and the terms and conditions governing PIB and Mobile Services including any amendments or variations to it. 16) UOBM shall not be responsible nor shall accept any liabilities of any nature howsoever arising or suffered by the Eligible Participants or any third party resulting directly or indirectly from this Campaign and/or the Prizes. 17) UOBM shall not be liable for any misinterpretation or misrepresentation of facts by any unauthorised third party in respect of this Campaign and/or the Prizes and published in any mass media, marketing or advertising materials. 18) To the fullest extent permitted by law, UOBM expressly excludes and disclaims any representations, warranties or endorsements, express or implied, written or oral, without limitation to those published in any mass media, marketing or advertising materials, including but not limited to, any warranty of quality, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose in respect of this Campaign and the Prize. 19) The record of transactions maintained by UOBM and UOBM s decision on all matters relating to this Campaign shall be final, conclusive and binding on the Eligible Participants. UOBM shall not be obliged to give any reasons and/or entertain any correspondence with any Eligible Participants / any person(s) on any matter concerning this Campaign. No appeals or correspondence from any Eligible Participants will be entertained. 20) To the fullest extent permitted by law, UOBM shall not be responsible for any failure or delay in the transmission of PIB transactions being transacted by PIB or being captured in UOBM s system, which may result in the Eligible Participants being omitted from the selection process during the Campaign Period. 4
21) By participating in this Campaign, the Winners give consent to and authorize UOBM to disclose or publish their names and ID numbers (in masked form) on the UOB website (www.uob.com.my) for the purposes of the Campaign. 22) In the event of any inconsistency between these terms and conditions and any advertising, promotional, publicity and other materials relating to or in connection with this Campaign, these terms and conditions shall prevail. 23) UOBM reserves the rights to withdraw, suspend, extend or terminate this Campaign prior to the expiry of the Campaign Period in whole or in part, at any time with prior notice, at its absolute discretion. For the avoidance of doubt, cancellation, withdrawal, suspension, extension or termination of this Campaign shall not entitle the Eligible Participants to any claim or compensation against UOBM for any and all losses or damages suffered or incurred by the Eligible Participants whether as a direct or indirect result of such cancellation, withdrawal, suspension, extension or termination. 24) UOBM reserves the right to add, delete, suspend or vary these terms and conditions, from time to time, wholly or in part, at its absolute discretion, by providing twenty one (21) days prior notice to the Eligible Participants through UOBM s website at www.uob.com.my, displaying a notice at any of UOBM s branches and/or a statement insert in the Statement of Account or in any other manner as may be determined by UOBM from time to time. 25) These terms and conditions shall be governed by and constructed in accordance with laws of Malaysia and the Eligible Participants agree to submit to the nonexclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia. 5
