Implementation Status and Key Decisions This ISR has been updated based on the Implementation Support mission that took place from March 12 to 21, 2017. The objectives of the March mission were to: (a) assess progress since the June 2016 mission; (b) assess the level of progress in the development of the Ngoyla Wildlife management plan; (c) assess the level of implementation of the second funding cluster of small grant subprojects; d) assess the quality of the third funding cluster of small grant sub-projects; e) assess the status of the community socio infrastructures; (f) assess the fiduciary management status of the project; and g) discuss the duration of the closing date extension. Four out of the five Global Environmental Development Objective indicators had already reached the end target value at the time of the mission. The implementation of the 25 sub-projects under the second funding cluster is proceeding well. The mission found that the Technical Committee created by the Minister of Forests and Wildlife to prepare Ngoyla Wildlife Reserve management produced the first draft plan that was subject to consultation at the local level. Despite the progress made in the finalization of the Ngoyla Mintom management plan, the completion of the 12 small grants sub-projects of the third funding cluster and the community socio infrastructure will not be possible by the current closing date, June 30, 2017. Preparations are underway for a short extension of the closing date to complete these activities. The remaining three intermediate indicators are on track with the ongoing activities within these two components. The number of indigenous people who are beneficiaries of infrastructures funded by LSM is high due to the fact that 10 wells are already operational in the Baka communities areas and the number of Baka who are benefitting from these wells are the ones reflected.
