1 MyHR Managing Bank Accounts Last Updated 20 November, 2016 Responsible Organisational Unit Human Resources OVERVIEW Employees may create or update bank accounts through MyHR. Before proceeding please ensure you have on hand your bank account details: BSB number Account number Account name This information can be obtained from your online banking, bank statement or by contacting your bank branch Please note: Failure to follow all steps or providing inaccurate information may result in a delay in processing your fortnightly pay. Should you require assistance in creating or updating your bank details, please contact a member of HR s Remuneration & Benefits Team. Their contact details are available by clicking HERE SUMMARY CLICK ON LINK TO ACCESS DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS 1 Log into MyHR using your University of Tasmania User ID and Password 2 Create Personal Bank Account MyHR, Main Menu, Self Service, Payroll & Compensation, Personal Bank Accounts, Add New Account 3 Add Bank Account to job record MyHR, Main Menu, Self Service, Payroll & Compensation, Pay Distribution Instructions 4 Multiple Jobs each job must have a bank account attached. 2 TO CREATE A NEW BANK ACCOUNT IN MyHR Step 1 Log in to MyHR using your University of Tasmania User Name & Password myhr.utas.edu.au Step 2 Create your personal bank accounts From the employee dashboard click on Main Menu, Self Service, Payroll & Compensation & Personal Bank Accounts. MyHR will display any bank accounts which have previously been created for you. 2 MyHR Managing Bank Accounts (20 November, 2016)

3 If you need to add a new account click on Add a New Account. The Bank Location automatically defaults to Australia this is not to be changed Select the account type from the drop down Click Continue Find the Bank Code on Attachment 1 (Bank Codes) which relates to your bank account. Enter this in Bank Code and click search After you have searched, click on the bank code link. 3 MyHR Managing Bank Accounts (20 November, 2016)

4 Enter your Bank s BSB number and click search. After you have searched click on the Bank Branch ID Link Complete the following fields: Account Number the number of your account Account Name the name/s in which your bank account is held Click Save and then click ok on the save confirmation message 4 MyHR Managing Bank Accounts (20 November, 2016)

5 Step 3 Pay Distribution Instructions (Attach Bank Account to Job Record) MyHR Managing Bank Accounts Allocate the bank account to your jobs, and specify the $amount or % of your net salary which you wish to be transferred the allocated account each fortnight. If you have multiple jobs you will need to repeat this step on each job. You can link multiple accounts to each job, but one will need to be your primary account In the Personal Bank Accounts Screen click on the link Pay Distribution Instructions or navigate by clicking Main Menu, Self Service, Payroll and Compensation, Pay Distribution Instructions Select the job which you wish to update by clicking on the job title. 6 Distribution Method will always be Bank Transfer. Click on Bank Transfer and then select your bank account by clicking on the bank name 6 MyHR Managing Bank Accounts (20 November, 2016)

7 Priority will update automatically to 1 Percent should equal 100% Tick o Use for any Remaining Pay o Accept Partial Amount o Use Distribution for ALL Payroll Runs Save and click Ok on Save Confirmation 7 MyHR Managing Bank Accounts (20 November, 2016)

9 MULTIPLE BANK ACCOUNTS You may nominate multiple bank accounts for each of your jobs. Repeat step 2 (Create your personal bank accounts) and step 3 (pay distribution instructions) for each of the bank accounts, however one account will need to be selected as your priority bank account Our Sample employee now has three bank accounts: Click on Pay Distribution Instructions, select job, Add a New Distribution Instruction, Bank Transfer Select your priority bank account (this is the bank account where the majority of your salary will be transferred) by clicking on the bank name Priority will update automatically to 1 Percent & Amount remain blank Tick o Use for any Remaining Pay o o Accept Partial Amount Use Distribution for ALL Payroll Runs (needs to be manually ticked for Primary Account) Save and click Ok on Save Confirmation 9 MyHR Managing Bank Accounts (20 November, 2016)

11 The account has now been attached. The amount / % shows as 0 as this is your primary account & all payments not otherwise allocated will be transferred to this account. To add another bank account to receive a % or $amount of your salary each fortnight click Add a New Distribution Instruction Select the bank account and complete the details and save as above, however: Complete $value or $amount that you want transferred to the 2 nd bank account DO NOT tick Use for any Remaining Pay 11 MyHR Managing Bank Accounts (20 November, 2016)

12 Or In this example Bank of Melbourne is the Primary account, and the Commonwealth account will receive $15 each fortnight. You can have as many Pay Distributions added as you require You only need to link the bank accounts in Pay Distributions which you need to use in this example we didn t link the MyState Account. 12 MyHR Managing Bank Accounts (20 November, 2016)

14 EDITING OR DELETING BANK ACCOUNTS OR PAY DISTRIBUTION INSTRUCTIONS Deleting or Changing Bank Accounts will take place in the next available pay run. To Edit or Delete Bank Accounts Click on Main Menu, Self Service, Payroll & Compensation & Personal Bank Accounts. Delete or Edit the Bank Account as appropriate (If you are deleting a bank account you will also need to delete any Pay Distribution Instructions linked to it, remembering this may be across multiple jobs) 14 MyHR Managing Bank Accounts (20 November, 2016)

15 Editing or Deleting Pay Distribution Instructions To Edit or Delete Bank Accounts Click on Main Menu, Self Service, Payroll & Compensation & Pay Distribution Instructions. Select the job for which you wish to alter Pay Distribution. Delete or Edit the Pay Distributions as required, by clicking on the Edit or Delete buttons. Remember each job needs one primary bank account. In this example we deleted Bank of Melbourne 15 MyHR Managing Bank Accounts (20 November, 2016)
