2 Dear Property Owner, As your Constitutional Tax Collector, I am responsible for collecting and distributing taxes and fees for the benefit of Palm Beach County. Last year our agency collected more than $3.3 billion in revenue, which we distributed to Palm Beach County s 95 taxing authorities. We are committed to helping you pay your bill on time, in a way that is most convenient for you. That is why we offer secure online payment options, an Installment Payment Plan and seven service centers for in-person transactions. Do you have questions about your bill or need other tax support? 3 About Your Bill Annual taxes are payable November 1, March 31, Taxes paid in November receive a 4% discount. Florida Statute extends discount/payment deadlines falling on a Saturday, Sunday or holiday to the next business day. Payments must be received in our office by 5:00 p.m. Search, pay, view or print a duplicate tax bill at Read the important instructions on the back of your bill. 4 Installment Payment Plan The Installment Payment Plan is available for next year s taxes. Apply online at Current plan members are not required to re-apply. Make four quarterly payments: two advance payments (June and September) and two during the tax payment period (December and March). Receive a discount slightly under 4%. To qualify: > Estimated property taxes must be more than $100. > Complete and return the application by April 30. > Annual participation requires the June payment on or before June 30. Notice And Application For 2018 Installment Payment Plan Read the instructions and payment schedule. Apply online at Fla. Stat , allows an installment payment plan for property taxes. June and September payments are based on an estimated tax equal to the actual taxes from the prior year. PAYMENT SCHEDULE: JUNE INSTALLMENT PAYMENT: The June installment must be paid by the due date to stay on the plan. One-quarter of the total estimated taxes, with a 6% discount, is due by June 30, SEPTEMBER INSTALLMENT PAYMENT: One-quarter of the total estimated taxes, with a 4.5% discount, is due by September 30, DECEMBER INSTALLMENT PAYMENT: One-quarter of the total estimated taxes plus one-half of the actual 2018 tax liability adjustment, with a 3% discount, is due by December 31, MARCH INSTALLMENT PAYMENT: One-quarter of the total estimated taxes plus one-half of the actual 2018 tax liability adjustment is due by March 31, There is no discount for March payments. Unpaid taxes become delinquent April 1, *Florida Statute extends discount/payment deadlines falling on a Saturday, Sunday or holiday to the next business day. Payments must be received in our office by 5:00 p.m. APPLICATION AND DIRECTIONS ARE ON THE BACK Keep a copy of this application and payment schedule for your records.
5 Your Tax Bill Explained Search, pay, view or print a duplicate tax bill at 1 Property Control Number (PCN) or Tangible Personal Property Account Number (TPP) A unique number is assigned to each property. Refer to this number when making inquiries. 5 2 Property Owner(s) Verify ownership. If the property has been sold, forward the bill to the new owner(s) or return it to our office marked SOLD. 3 Mailing Address If your mailing address has changed, contact the Property Appraiser Exemptions Approved exemptions will appear here. Report errors to the Property Appraiser at (561) Assessed, Exemption & Taxable Some exemptions are only applicable to certain taxing authorities. 6 Delinquent Tax Message PAST YEAR(S) TAX IS DELINQUENT (if message displayed). Contact Tax Collector at (561) for the delinquent amount due and payment options. 7 Amount Due 7 Pay early and receive one of the following discounts: 4% in November 3% in December 2% in January 1% in February Gross amount due in March, no discount Pay one amount. The amount due reflects the discount (excluding March). Note: Discounts are determined by postmark of payment. Taxes are delinquent on April 1. Substantial interest and fees apply. Florida Statute extends discount/payment deadlines falling on a Saturday, Sunday or holiday. 6
6 Payment Options Payments must be made in full and in U.S. funds, payable to: Tax Collector, Palm Beach County. A fee is charged for dishonored funds. Pay Online: Pay securely at echeck > FREE. > Banks have different routing numbers. Confirm correct routing number with your bank. Credit Card > A 2.5% convenience fee ($2.00 minimum fee) is applied to each credit card transaction. Credit card payment limit is $99, > Convenience fees are collected by the credit card vendor and not retained by our office. Pay by Bank Online Bill Pay: Use your bank s bill pay service. Contact your bank for instructions. Use the Property Control Number (no dashes) or Tangible Account Number as the account number. Mail delivery and bank processing times vary. Pay By Mail: Remember... > Include payment stub and use return envelope. > Write your Property Control Number or Tangible Account Number on the payment. > Do not tape, fold, staple, clip or write on the payment stub. > Sign and date the payment. > Keep the top portion of the tax bill with the canceled check for receipt. Send payments by regular mail to: P.O. Box 3353, West Palm Beach, FL Send payments by overnight/express mail to: 301 N. Olive Ave., 3rd Floor, West Palm Beach, FL Pay In-Person: Service centers are open Monday Friday 8:15 a.m. 5:00 p.m. (excluding holidays). Use a drop box inside a service center. We accept cash, check or credit/debit card. > A $2.50 convenience fee is applied to each $ increment on a debit card transaction. > Convenience fees are not retained by our office.
