The topics of AmCham Business Breakfast with Minister of Justice, Tomas Borec, were featured in several mainstream media on March 12, 2013, including: Slovensky rozhlas, JOJ, SITA, SME and others. The AmCham Mentor Network Program was launched in Kosice on March 21, 2013, and it was covered by various media including SITA, aktuality.sk, 24hod.sk, webnoviny.sk and others. POLICY UPDATES Business-Academic Cooperation Committee On March 22, 2013 AmCham together with CSI Leasing, US Embassy and InfoUSA organized the Mentor Network Program in Kosice for selected students from Kosice region. On March 28, 2013 AmCham helped to organize QSI International Career Day for selected students in the

4 following companies: Amazon, DELL, ESET, Kempinski Hotel River Park, Radisson Blu Carlton Hotel and Soitron. Data Protection Task Force The Task Force will meet on April 9, 2013 at 10:00 AM to discuss updates of the Data Protection Regulation and our planned roundtable discussion, as well as the cyber security directive and the plans for our common position paper and seminar on the topic. Employment and Social Affairs Committee The Committee is planning a roundtable discussion with key stakeholders (Ministry of Interior, Foreign Police, Ministry of Labor, Ministry of Foreign & European Affairs, Ministry of Education) on the Act on the Residence of Foreign Aliens, which amends the Employment Services Act as well as on the position paper on employing foreign workers, prepared by the Committee members. The discussion will most likely take place on April 10, 2013 or April 11, The Committee members will be informed as soon as possible. Energy Committee At the beginning of April, the Committee will receive an updated version of the Energy Policy Framework with incorporated comments of the Committee members. The second round of commenting will then follow suit. EU Affairs Committee The Committee is planning next meetings featuring the topics of revised EU regional aid guidelines for investment as well as IP rights. The sessions will be scheduled in April and May respectively. FDI Committee FDI steering group met on February 28 and discussed future of the committee. AmCham is in the process of preparing strategic document about future functioning of FDI Committee. In addition, several meetings with members of parliament took place during March, discussing the Act on Incentives, which was approved at the end of March by the Parliament. Public Procurement Task Force During the month of March, the Task Force continued with presenting its comments and leading dialogue with the Ministry of Interior on the proposed amendment of the Public Procurement Act. The amendment was approved at the end of March, and we are now in the process of organizing a wrap up session with the representatives of the Ministry. Additionally, there will be a special business breakfast on public procurement followed by a workshop, tentatively scheduled for May 16, Tax Committee Together with our partner organization, AmCham EU, we are going to address the issue of financial transaction tax. We will inform the members about next steps in the upcoming days. We are also in the process of finalizing the summary of Regional Tax Conference.
