1 Illinois School Referenda Results rimary Elections 2005 There were 109 referenda introduced by 93 school districts on April 5, 2005, with the following types: advisory = 4, bond = 29, miscellaneous = 7, and tax = 69. referenda have always been the highest number of referenda type introduced during each election. Some 14 school districts introduced more than one referendum. In particular, all three referenda introduced by Matteson School District 162 (bond, miscellaneous, and tax) passed, whereas all three tax referenda introduced by Mundelein CHSD 120 failed. A summary of preliminary results of the school referenda obtained from participating school districts is included below. Overall, 39 of 109 (35.8 percent) referenda passed. Analyses of the referenda results also indicate that the majority (17 of 29) of bond referenda introduced were related to building construction and the majority of tax referenda introduced (63 of 69) were related to increasing the property tax rate for educational purposes.
