2 OUR REGION The Greater Peoria Talent Forecast is an annual labor projection survey conducted by the Greater Peoria Economic Development Council. Interstate employers located in Logan, Mason, Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford Counties are invited to participate. The survey results are used to guide workforce development initiatives throughout Greater Peoria. This year, 43 employers participated in the survey. Participants represent our largest regional clusters including Logistics, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Agribusiness, and Professional & Technical Services. Collectively, these employers are planning to hire over 9,000 people in and to meet their workforce needs. A large majority of the opportunities are concentrated in the healthcare sector. This data is valuable to students and parents, educators and counselors, our workforce development agencies, and those seeking new employment opportunities. By understanding the demand, we can adjust our systems to better introduce and align our career development and training programs to meet the demand of our regional employers. An aligned workforce system generates better opportunities for our citizens, critical talent for our employers, and economic growth for our entire region.
