As such, it reflects employee activity as of November 1 st for the reported fall semester (i.e., personnel considered by the Office of Human Resources to be employed by the institution as of the reporting period). While employment is dynamic and new hires/separations occur throughout an annual period, these files provide a comparable static snapshot of employee activity in reported fall semesters. After experiencing slight declines through the Fall 2012 and 2013 semesters, the number of individuals employed by Chaffey College increased by 14.2% from Fall 2010 to Fall Increases in number of employees were observed among administrators (8.8% gain), fulltime faculty (+9.9%), part-time faculty (+19.9%), and classified professionals (+5.5%). 1

The largest increases over the past six years were observed among Hispanic and Asian employee groups. From Fall 2009 to Fall 2015, the percentage of employees who were Hispanic increased by 36.0% (18.6% in Fall 2009; 25.3% in Fall 2015) while the percentage of Asian employees increased by 29.3% (9.2% to 11.9%). Over this same period the percentage of employees who were African American or Caucasian declined by 10.2% and 11.6%, respectively. 2

Approximately 64% of classified professionals were from historically underrepresented racial/ethnic groups. Over 41% of classified professionals were Hispanic, the largest racial/ethnic group among this employee classification group. In contrast, 44.5% of parttime faculty, 37.8% of administrators, 32.4% of full-time faculty were from historically underrepresented racial/ethnic groups. Approximately 2/3 of full-time faculty, 60% of administrators, and 54% of part-time faculty were Caucasian, the largest racial/ethnic group among these employee classification groups. 3

After declining from 59.2% in Fall 2011 to 58.2% in Fall 2013, the percentage of female employees has increased the over the past two years, rising to 6 of the total employee population in Fall Over the six year examination window the percentage of female employees increased from 58.9% in Fall 2010 to 6 in Fall 2015, a 1.9% increase. Conversely, over this same period the percentage of male employees declined from 41.1% to 4, a 2.7% decline. 4

In the Fall 2015 semester, 64.9% of administrators, 62.7% of classified professionals, and 62.2% of full-time faculty were female. A slightly lower percentage of part-time faculty were female (58.0%). 5

In Fall 2010, the mean employee age was 46.9; 44.4% of employees were 50 years of age or older. By Fall 2015, mean employee age had declined to 45.9; 39.5% of employees were 50 years of age or older. Over the past six years, largest percentage gains were observed among 70 years of age or older (1.9% in Fall 2010; 2.9% in Fall 2015, a 52.6% increase) and employees 29 years of age or younger 1.9% in Fall 2010; 2.9% in Fall 2015, a 30.6% increase). Largest percentage declines were observed among employees 50 to 59 years old (29.7% in Fall 2010; 23.4% in Fall 2015, a 21.2% decline). 6

The mean age of administrators (mean age = 50.1) and full-time faculty (49.3) in the Fall 2015 semester were similar. As these means would suggest, 56.7% of administrators and 48.7% of full-time faculty were 50 years of age or older. The mean ages of part-time faculty (45.3) and classified professionals (44.4) were also similar, although on average these employee groups were four to six younger than administrators/full-time faculty. In the Fall 2015 semester, 39.7% of classified professionals and 35.6% part-time faculty were 50 years of age or older. 7

In Fall 2015, 3.9% of employees had an identified disability, an increase of 34.5% since Fall 2010 and an 85.7% increase since Fall Numerically, the number of employees with identified disabilities has more than doubled since Fall 2011 (24 employees in Fall 2011, 50 employees in Fall 2015, a 108.3% increase). 8
