1 CCF OPEN DAIRY & MEAT GOAT SHOW SHOW RULES Please read in entirety and Return Completed Forms to : Carolyn Morrison -CCF Goat Show Memorial Drive - St. Johnsbury, VT All owners must present a current Veterinarian Health Certificate issued within 30 days of show, stating clean bill of health AND PROOF OF RABIES VACCINATION given within the last year as of the date of show. Goats must be clearly identified by tattoo or ear tag (or microchip with picture attached to vet certificate verifying animal identity). 2. Prior to unloading (Wednesday AND Saturday), every goat will be inspected by a fair staff. CCF reserves the right to refuse any goat showing symptoms of disease. 3. NO INTACT BUCKS allowed. 4. PRE-REGISTRATION forms must be received NO LATER THAN August 14th so exhibitor passes may be mailed to you! Registrations received after 8/14 will need to pay regular admission price! 5. Exhibitor passes will be provided at the rate of 1 pass per exhibitor per day (5 passes if staying the week, 1 pass if coming for just Saturday) and 1 pass per adult supervisor per day if exhibitor is under the age of 18. Limit 1 supervisor per youth! Please note* Late registrations will result in exhibitor paying regular ticket price at the gate. No exceptions. Mail in your registrations on time and get tickets provided. 6. Exhibitors are encouraged to keep their goats at the fair for the duration of the fair ( Wednesday 8/22 thru Sunday 8/26). Those who are willing and able to keep goats at the fair will be eligible for Herdsmanship Award premiums and prizes. Recipients will be selected and awarded by the conclusion of the fair. -To be eligible for the Herdsmanship Award $ premiums goats must be in place by Noon on Wednesday 8/22 and leave no sooner than Sunday 8/26 after 3 PM. Early departures will void your eligibility for Herdsmanship premiums. -Exhibitors will be selected based on animal and pen cleanliness, appropriate equipment, stall decorations, educational displays, sportsmanship, public fair goer interaction, etc. - An exhibitor meeting will be held on Wednesday at 12:30 PM. All those with goats staying for the week must attend. 7. Exhibitors who wish to present animals for SATURDAY ONLY (show day) must have goats in place by 10 AM and leave no sooner than 5 PM. 8. Show premiums will be awarded to the top 4 placings in each class. A premium amount per class is provided assuming there are at least 4 goats in each class. Premium amount is subject to change at the discretion of show superintendent if fewer than 4 goats. 9. Showmanship class- 1 goat entry limit per exhibitor. Conformation classes- you can register and enter multiple goats per class BUT each goat entry must have it s own individual handler! Please don t plan to handle 3 goats at once; you will be excused from the ring. 10. Wethers (castrated males) of any age or breed may be shown in Fitting and Showmanship of appropriate division (Dairy or Meat) 11. If a goat is shown in the incorrect class and the class is placed by the judge, or your goat misses their class, that goat cannot be shown again. It is the exhibitor s responsibility to be at the ringside on time for their appropriate class.

2 12. Youngsters are encouraged to participate and are welcome to show their goat with assistance from an adult if necessary. There are no age restrictions in this open show. If an exhibitor is unable to maintain proper control of their goat in the show ring they will be excused from the class without being placed. 13. Exhibitors are expected to provide appropriate equipment to feed/water their animals and clean their pens at the conclusion of use. Bedding will be provided by the fair. 14. Goat arrival times: Wednesday 8/22 between 9 AM and 12 PM. Meeting at 12:30 PM Saturday 8/25 between 8 AM and 10 AM. Parade at 11 AM and show at 1 PM
