That's hardly the sort of action big bull markets are made of. But silver has rallied 20% off its late-june bottom. The chart now has a series of higher lows in place. And the price just climbed back above its 50-day moving

2 average (DMA). 5 The real question is, what are you going to do? Some investors will let it scare them off... others will stand frozen in fear. And they'll all lose big because of it. So I want to make sure you are 100% prepared when the inevitable pullback happens. Because when it does, you don't have to be like a deer-in-the-headlights! It is possible to get out of the way...and use Inverse Funds for a profit-making opportunity. We will spend some appreciable amount of time reviewing and analyzing them. 8 Buying a Stake in... Athletes? I don't know if you saw this, but Arian Foster and Fantex Holdings Inc. are participating in a massive experiment or incredibly high-risk. Of all things they want to sell investments in athletes. As you probably know, I'm certainly not a sports fan muchless a fanatic. Arian Foster is a running back for the Houston Texans. He currently is signed to a $23.5 million deal, which could escalate to $25.5 million if Foster hits certain incentives, such as making the Pro Bowl. He also has about $700,000 in endorsements lined up right now. So here's what Fantex is doing: The company is holding an IPO for Foster, set to raise $10 million. By selling 1 million shares at $1.06 (the 6 cents cover various overheads), the company will pay Foster that $10 million. In exchange, all "shareowners" of Foster are entitled to 20% of the money he makes off football. That includes future contracts, endorsement deals and any broadcasting gigs he might land. Talk about an unconventional investment! Here's why both sides want to enter into this arrangement: For investors, a top talent such as Foster could easily clear $50 million going forward (20% of which is $10 million - the breakeven point). Especially with further endorsements as Foster becomes better known or as his team does well in the playoffs... or with announcing jobs. Foster is unusually articulate and a philosophical thinker - there's a good chance he'd do very well on TV. Or he could take his deep thoughts into a front-office job or wind up coaching - other possibilities for high-paying careers that would return money to

9 investors. So investors can get a return on their investment as long as Foster makes more than $50 million in his football career - on the field or off. Meanwhile, Foster gets some of piece of mind. Football is a violent sport - and the majority of money on contracts isn't guaranteed. One bad hit, and Foster's career could end tomorrow. By banking $10 million right now, Foster is securing his financial future, without having to worry about a bad break drying up his well. On top of that, Fantex plans to help Foster land as many endorsement deals and other football-related jobs as possible - the better to realize a return. So Foster has another power player looking to make him money. If he gets endorsements he wouldn't otherwise have seen - and has to pay 20% of that cash to Fantex - that's a deal worth making. Foster is the first of an entirely new kind of investment. Fantex, a San Francisco startup, is a registered trading platform, but instead of dealing in stocks of companies, it deals in stocks of athletes. It envisions a time when hundreds or thousands of athletes - from all sports and, stars and scrubs alike - will IPO themselves. Investors can buy part of the athletes' earnings cheap, assuming everything goes as planned. It's an intriguing idea. Will it work? I honestly don't know. I could see this becoming a phenomenon... or a fad. I could see this providing insurance to athletes... or becoming a disincentive. The real test case, however, won't be Foster. By all accounts, an upstanding citizen with plenty of opportunities off the gridiron, Foster is a fairly safe bet. The real test will be a young phenom who goes to IPO and then flames out. Someone like former quarterback Ryan Leaf. (Who? you may ask. Exactly - he was a No. 1 pick who never did a thing.)

10 If this concept can hold together after a blow-up like that - if it can attract enough interest to even make it to such a test - we'll have something real on our hands. And because we know about it now, we could be on the cutting-edge of something big. Something Wall Street hasn't even bothered with yet. For now, I can't wait to see how this plays out. If nothing else, it's daring - and quite contrarian.
