This is why we have always maintained a conservative investment philosophy, allowing us to offer you quality products that are among the safest in the industry. Quality of Investments Our investment philosophy is simple safety and security for our policyowners is our number one concern. Stability should not be sacrificed for short-term yield. Therefore, our investment portfolio is focused on long-term success ,143 2,664 96% of our bond holdings are rated in the highest quality categories. Adequacy of Reserves and Capital The members of the NGL Insurance Group establish reserves to ensure that enough money is available to pay future benefits. Minimum reserve requirements are set by state law to ensure that funds will be available to meet all future obligations to policyowners Policies in Force (in Thousands) Policies in force have increased by 180% over the past eight years. Policy reserves & contract liabilities meet or exceed the conservative legal requirements. This provides security for our policyowners that their benefits will be paid in a timely manner. Statutory capital significantly exceeds regulatory requirements. This provides policyowners with additional security that their funds are safe and benefits will be paid when due, even in the most difficult of economic conditions.
