4 Overview Genesis of PTC PTC Today Set up in 1999 at the initiative of Government of India with the following objectives: Promoting power trading to optimally utilize the existing resources; PTC s business includes Short term, Medium term, Long term (including cross border) power trading, banking, trading of power through Power Exchanges and Power Tolling Facilitate development of power projects under private sector Development of power market for market based investment in the Indian Power Sector; and Promote exchange of power with neighboring countries.
