4 MCX Outlook Thu 10 Jan 2019 Gold prices steady as interest rate outlook pressures dollar Gold prices held near sevenmonth highs on Thursday as the dollar was pressured by rising expectations the U.S. Federal Reserve will keep interest rates steady this year, while investors also waited for further news on SinoU.S. trade talks. FUNDAMENTALS * Spot gold XAU= was a tad lower at $1, per ounce at 0141 GMT, hovering near Friday's peak of $1, a level last seen in June. * U.S. gold futures GCv1 rose 0.1 percent to $1, per ounce. Oil falls 1 pct on swelling U.S. supply, but mood generally upbeat on trade hopes Oil prices fell by 1 percent on Thursday on swelling U.S. supply, although the mood in global markets was increasingly confident amid hopes the United States and China may soon end trade disputes that have undermined global economic growth. U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil futures CLc1 were at $51.75 per barrel at 0113 GMT, down 61 cents, or 1.2 percent, from their last settlement. International Brent crude futures LCOc1 were down 1 percent, or 63 cents, at $60.81 per barrel.

5 Market News Thu 10 Jan 2019 Special News Oil falls 1% on swelling US supply, but mood generally upbeat on trade hopes Oil prices fell by 1 per cent on Thursday on swelling US supply, although the mood in global markets was increasingly confident amid hopes the United States and China may soon end trade disputes that have undermined global economic growth. US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil futures were at $51.75 per barrel at 0113 GMT, down 61 cents, or 1.2 per cent, from their last settlement. International Brent crude futures were down 1 per cent, or 63 cents, at $60.81 per barrel. USD/CAD manages a bounce back towards USD/CAD is seeing a thin bounce from Wednesday's lows as the CAD continues to track closely with oil prices, and the recovery in WTI prices is seeing the DollarLoonie pairing stoop lower as the CAD rides oil prices higher. The US Dollar dipped to a low of on Wednesday against the Loonie, and the pair's early Thursday bounce sees the pair challenging , but with the CAD remaining tied tightly to oil prices, the Loonie's weakening stance will only last as long as the WTI's soft decline in early Thursday trading.
