We will look at coverage forms commonly written and how they may respond to claims presented after such disasters. Lastly, we will briefly explore some liability insurance issues that can come into play in a catastrophe, whether the catastrophe is a natural one or one that is man-made. 5 Contractors, Contractors, Contractors Instructor: Catherine Trischan, CPCU, CRM, CIC, ARM, Aug. 8 Nov. 15 Course # This course examines a variety of inland marine exposures faced by contractors and the policies available to cover those exposures. We will discuss builders risk coverage, installation floaters and contractors equipment policies. Cyber Insurance: When Convenience Turns Catastrophic Instructor: Jerry Hargrove, J.D., CIC, Aug. 21 Nov. 13 Course # The conveniences afforded by technology today were unfathomable just a few years ago. Unfortunately, cyber criminals seem to be at the top of the evolutionary chain as evidenced by their ability to constantly reinvent schemes to exploit the latest technologies for personal gain (if only these scumbags would use their talents for good!) In their efforts to keep up with these criminals and protect individuals and businesses from financial devastation, insurance companies are constantly evolving their Cyber insurance policies. This course reviews several of the latest updates to the standard Cyber insurance policy form created by ISO. Page 5 Rev. 6/15/18

6 Health and Disability Insurance: Just the Facts Instructor: Karin Klaassen, CLU, June 20 Aug. 9 Oct. 10 Dec. 4 Course # To teach insurance professionals about the current state of the ever-changing landscape of health and disability insurance. Consumers are constantly pounded with information- sometimes true, sometimes not- regarding health and disability insurance products and how they function. This course is designed to help us insurance professionals separate fact from fiction and act as a trusted adviser to insureds who often have little or no understanding of these insurance products. Hope I Die Before I Get Old (Cause this Government Stuff Gonna Knock Me Cold!) Mastering Medicare and Social Security Course # Instructor: Chris Amrhein, AAI June 14 - Aug. 16 Oct. 11 Nov. 7 Far too many retirees, upon reaching the time of life when they are looking forward to (or at least relieved to have available) these governmental security blankets, find themselves assaulted by complicated eligibility rules, complex coverages, and a myriad of often confusing options. Add in seemingly conflicting advice from experts, retiree associations and flat-out scam artists, and instead of comfort and security older folks often find fear and confusion. Innovations in Long-Term Care Funding with Life Insurance Instructor: Jerry Rhinehart, CIC, August 1 Oct. 10 Dec. 12 Course # This program will review the family dilemma faced by so many the long-term care, and associated financial and emotional issues needed by a person when they encounter a serious medical issue. When attention is needed, the options are limited as to where the care can be rendered their personal residence (or a residence of another), an Assisted Care Living facility, or a Skilled Nursing Facility. The cost, advantages and potential problems concerning each site for care will be reviewed. The cost of such care can only be borne in one of three options: personal funds, some governmental entity, or specific insurance. This program will review the qualification rules, and care provided by Medicare and Medicaid. It will review the coverage and provisions of Long-Term Insurance policies that have been available the last 40+ years. The program will conclude with the recent innovations that have emerged in the last few years regarding Living Benefits Riders (or policy provisions) that allow certain insurance contracts to provided advances against the death benefit to fund for the Long-Term Care dilemma. The course will assist in understanding what to do with money in Qualified Accounts (e.g. Cash It; Leave It; Move It; or Roll It) and will review IRS Distribution Rules regarding money in IRAs. Finally, the course includes discussion on the Required Minimum Distribution rules and the proper use of Beneficiaries as well as the role of Annuities and Life Insurance in such planning. On Ethics- Data, Dilemmas and Knuckleheads Instructor: Kevin Amrhein, CIC August 30 Oct Nov. 29 Course # LRE Insurance professionals should expect three things from this Ethics course: 1) interesting data, 2) interesting dilemmas, and 3) interesting examples of things not-to-do as evidenced by real-life knuckleheads who do those things. This course features interactive case studies which will engage students to defend and/or challenge instinctive positions on a variety of issues. Lines will be drawn. Bonds will be broken. Friends will leave as enemies. You have been warned. Scary CGL Exclusions Course # Instructor: Jerry Hargrove, J.D., CIC, July 17 Oct. 17 The Insurance Services Office (ISO) Commercial General Liability (CGL) insurance policy has long been the industry standard for commercial insureds. The Policy is far from perfect, containing several exclusions which are often a surprise to not only the insured but also the agent who sold the policy. This course will help insurance professionals understand and explain several such exclusions and better position the insured to deal with them before the loss happens. Page 7 Rev. 6/15/18

Street Level Ethics Instructor: Chris Amrhein, AAI June 21 July 25 Sept. 13 Dec. 13 Course # LRE Let s face it: making the right choice is not always as simple as it seems. This course is designed to help insurance professionals polish their ethical instincts and become better decision makers. Through interactive case studies, this course will help participants better understand the ethical decision making process that absolutely must be ingrained in every agency s culture. 9 Tricks to Fix: Closing Coverage Gaps in Home, Work and Auto Course # Instructor: Kevin Amrhein, CIC June 26 Sept. 6 Dec. 18 Side jobs, change of ownership, borrowed/rented cars, loss assessments and several other classic coverage concerns are dissected in Tricks to Fix. This course reviews common personal and commercial coverage gaps that- if unresolved- are certain to expose agents to the ferocity that is an angry insured. The situations discussed in this course are far from unusual; these coverage concerns are intentionally pulled from common policies sold daily by agents. This course will challenge you to break the monotony of selling these common policies and see them for what they really are: a contract full of potential pitfalls only avoidable by the most advanced agents. Workers Compensation Issues Common Provisions and Rating Instructor: Jerry Hargrove, J.D., CIC, June 19 Sept. 11 Course # To teach insurance professionals about common misunderstandings in the provisions and rating of Worker s Compensation policies. After completing this course, insurance pros will have a thorough understanding of Worker s Compensation insurance policies, including common provisions concerning coverage and rating. Your Agency Online Communication Cure or E&O Plague? Instructor: Chris Amrhein, AAI July 23 Sept. 27 Course # The rapid evolution of technology coupled with the seemingly instantaneous dispersal of information can leave the agency subject to new and unknown issues affecting errors and omissions (E&O). This course addresses the current state of those issues, draws parallels between current offline E&O practices and those needed for online actions, and makes recommendations as to next steps.
