6 Underwriting guidelines Aviva protects a wide variety of manufacturing businesses providing the following criteria are met: Your client s primary business is manufacturing and the premises are located in Canada. There are allowable sales in foreign countries and the United States (U.S.) dependant on risk exposure. We cover incidental installation exposure in U.S. provided that: only Canadian employees are used (there is no for U.S. employees), and work is relatively simple and jobs take a relatively short period of time to complete. Your clients must have acceptable claims experience. Clients must have a minimum three years in business and/or three years relevant and transferable experience in a similar operation. There must be documented quality control procedures with records retained requirements vary based on type of product manufactured. There must be documented products recall plans in place requirements vary based on type of product manufactured. Operations must take place in buildings less than 40-years-old, unless building systems and roof were updated, repaired or replaced. Appropriate property protection systems must be active and in place depending on operations (dust collection, sprinkler, alarms, etc.).
