2 Sixth Annual International Insurance Training Program Trends, Developments and Strategy in Life Insurance - International and Swiss Aspects Life insurance and annuity products have become valued tools in the wealth management industry during the last decade. Today, they are a mainstay of the wealth management industry. We have seen an evolution of a variety of products ranging from pure risk to jumbo life to tax wrapper policies. The risk associated with developing and marketing such products has also been increasing as their popularity has increased. This is evidenced by the increasing restrictions in many jurisdictions on the tax benefits from the use of these products. As these products increase in use, governments are increasingly attacking them. As such, alternative wealth planning vehicles, such as pension-based insurance are now being considered. This will be the Sixth Annual International Insurance Training Program we have run in Zurich focusing on the use of life product annuities internationally. Listening to the thoughts of many in the past, we have expanded the program to address your needs. Covered will be such important topics as: i. Insurance for Newcomers: a basic course on legal and regulatory issues relevant to people who have limited knowledge of the insurance arena: a session particularly helpful for private bankers and trustees, including a session on the basic structural differences between trusts, foundations, and life insurance. ii. A session on understanding what to do if a policy invested into an asset that has now been found to be a fraud. iii. Sophisticated tax planning using life products for families in Europe and the Americas: these sessions are particularly relevant for wealth planners and insurance brokers. iv. A keynote address by the CEO of SwissLife, Bruno Pfister. v. Cross-border marketing issues associated with the transportation and marketing of insurance products across borders: a session particularly relevant for insurance companies, brokers and bank relationship managers. vi. Sessions on the abuse of life insurance as wealth management tool and what this means for the industry. vii. A panel discussion by leading experts from insurance companies, brokers and re-insurers (including Generali, The International Planning Group, Lombard International, Swiss Life, SwissRe and Zurich Financial Services) on their strategies for developing and marketing insurance to global families. Issues related to crisis in the insurance industry will be addressed. We have designed our agenda with a view to conducting an intensive training program and not a seminar. Our specific objective is to provide those who attend with the necessary skills to develop global insurance policies and market them in compliance with Swiss, EU and other rules. We will hold this training program at the Widder Hotel, Rennweg 7, 8001 Zurich, Switzerland starting at 8:00 and ending at 17:30. The cost of the International Insurance Training Program is CHF per delegate including a full set of materials and light lunch. When more than one delegate is attending from any one financial institution, a discount of CHF will apply to each delegate.
