In this role, Mark is responsible for developing and implementing Lloyd s business and market development strategy across the MENA markets as well as managing the operations of the Dubai platform. Mark joined Lloyd s from the DIFC Authority where he was Director of Insurance, Reinsurance and Captives. Mark holds 20 years experience in international insurance industry starting his career in 1995 with RSA Insurance Group in the UK. He has lived and worked in the Middle East for 12 years building extensive experience of the GCC and wider Levant insurance markets in executive roles including Head of Commercial Markets for the Middle East & Levant at Zurich Insurance and Chief Executive Officer for Saudi Arabia and Bahrain at RSA Insurance Group. Mark holds an MBA from the University of Leicester and a BA (Hons.) in History from the University of Manchester. He is also a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute of the United Kingdom, holding both the ACII and FPC qualifications. Vincent Vandendael, Chief Commercial Officer, Lloyd s Vincent Vandendael joined Lloyd's in December 2012, having previously been Chief Executive Officer of Global Corporate business for Zurich Insurance in Asia Pacific, based in Hong Kong. Vincent is responsible for promoting and protecting Lloyd's business across the globe, seeking new business opportunities and monitoring the development of emerging markets, whilst also managing Lloyd s international operations. Vincent started his insurance career as a financial lines underwriter and has more than 22 years of underwriting and general management experience with both Chubb and Zurich Insurance. Having lived and worked in Belgium, France, the United States, Switzerland and Hong Kong, he has gained extensive international experience and foreign business culture expertise. Vincent holds a commercial engineering degree from the University of Leuven in Belgium. He is married, has four children, speaks several languages and lives in London.

4 Dr Nasser Saidi President of Nasser Saidi & Associates Dr Nasser H. Saidi heads Nasser Saidi & Associates a niche consultant and advisor to the banking & financial sector, governments, central banks, regulators, multi-national and regional companies. He is the former Chief Economist of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) from 2006 to 2012, where as a senior executive he built & promoted the centre and its strategic development and developed the links with governments, central banks, IFIs, banks & financial institutions and international financial centres. Dr Saidi is the Founder and former Executive Director of the Hawkamah- Institute for Corporate Governance and the Mudara Institute of Directors, He was senior adviser to the UAE Minister of Finance, Dr Saidi was the Minister of Economy and Trade and Minister of Industry of Lebanon between 1998 and He was the First Vice-Governor of the Central Bank of Lebanon for two successive mandates, and He was a Member of the UN Committee for Development Policy (UNCDP) for two mandates over the period , a position to which he was appointed by former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, in his personal capacity. Dr Saidi is Chairman of the regional Clean Energy Business Council, promoting clean energy solutions &policies in the MENA countries. He is a member of the IMF s Regional Advisory Group for MENA and a member of the Advisory Board of the Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum (OMFIF) and a member of the Private Sector Advisory Group of the Global Corporate Governance Forum, an institution of the I FC / World Bank driving global corporate governance reforms, and Co-Chaired OECD MENA Corporate Governance Working Group. He is active in crowdfunding, VC and seed funding. In 2013, he was named among the 50 most Influential Arabs in the World by The Middle East magazine, for the fourth consecutive year and named among the 500 Most Powerful Arabs in the world by Arabian Business for the second consecutive year. He is the author of numerous articles and has written a number of books and publications addressing macroeconomic, capital market development and international economic issues in the MENA region, the GCC countries and Lebanon. His research interests include macroeconomics, financial market development, crowd funding, payment systems and international economic policy, corporate governance, clean energy and information and communication technology (ICT). Dr Saidi was a private banker and served as an economic adviser and director to a number of central banks and financial institutions in Arab countries, Europe and Central and Latin America. Prior to his public career, Dr Saidi was an academic, serving as a Professor of Economics in the Department of Economics in the University of Chicago, the Institut universitaire de Hautes Etudes Internationales (Geneva, CH), and the Université de Genève. He also served as a lecturer at the American University of Beirut and the Université St. Joseph in Beirut. Dr Saidi holds a Ph.D. and a M.A. in Economics from the University of Rochester in the USA, a M.Sc. from University College, London University and a B.A. from the American University of Beirut.

He is responsible for horizon scanning activities, thought leadership and identifying and removing innovation barriers. Trevor is Co-chairman of OASIS; the open platform catastrophe modelling system, attends the management board of the Lighthill Risk Network and is a visiting senior fellow at the Centre for Analysis of Time Series at the London School of Economics. He is an actuary, fellow of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications, has a PhD in Statistics and Master of Science in Pure Mathematics. Michael Ducker Senior Associate Insurance and Dispute Resolution, Clyde & Co Michael is a Senior Associate in the Insurance and Dispute Resolution group in Clyde & Co. s Dubai office. He moved to Dubai in January 2016, having previously spent 8 years with Clyde & Co in the UK. Michael has over 8 years' experience, advising and defending insurers, reinsurers and their insured's, on a wide range of complex liability and coverage disputes, with a particular focus on litigation, investigations and claims arising out of Property and Casualty classes of insurance. He also has experience advising insurers and reinsurers on subrogated recovery actions both in the UK and in the Middle East. Wayne Jones Partner, Insurance and Reinsurance, Clyde & Co Wayne Jones is a partner based in Clyde & Co. s Dubai office, from where he heads up Clyde & Co. s re/insurance team in the region. Wayne has been in the UAE since During this time he spent five years in Abu Dhabi assisting with the set-up of Clyde & Co. s Abu Dhabi office. Wayne is a recognised specialist in the GCC region for insurance and reinsurance work, and has a broad regional practice advising local and foreign insurance interests on a wide range of contentious and noncontentious matters, across the GCC and wider Middle East region. In addition to claims, coverage and subrogated recovery work, in recent years Wayne has been increasingly involved in a wide range of regulatory work across the GCC, including in the specialist financial centres (DIFC and QFC), dealing with local regulators and government bodies. He has also led the legal teams in advising several GCC governments on the planning and implementation of healthcare financing arrangements. Wayne continues to advise on a broad range of commercial disputes in the Middle East, acting in multijurisdictional court disputes and local and international arbitration proceedings. Wayne is a frequent speaker at regional insurance market events and a regular contributor to industry publications. Peter Vallas General Manager, Lloyd's Agency Network Peter Valles is the General Manager at the Surveyors and Loss Adjusters Division of Inchcape Shipping Services with the responsibility for the regional management and development of the division in the Middle East, India and Africa. He is also the P&I correspondent and Lloyds Agent for the UAE and an active marine surveyor in the field. He has worked in the marine industry for over 27 years, 16 years at sea and 11 years ashore as a marine surveyor and consultant. He has acted as a company representative, MWS on rig moving, offshore installation construction, deep water pipe lay and other high risk offshore activities. He has extensive experience on complex marine casualties and a sound working knowledge of offshore vessels, bulk carriers, product oil tankers and container vessels. John Barlow Partner, HFW's Dubai office He advises insurers and reinsurers of Financial Institutions in connection with their fidelity, computer crime, D&O, PI/Civil Liability and cyber liability programmes, and on claims that arise under these products. John has handled and settled many of the most significant claims to find their way into the London insurance and reinsurance market over the last two decades. John also heads up HFW s regulatory team in Dubai which assists insurers, brokers and MGAs wishing to establish a presence in DIFC. John and his team s work includes advising on set ups and compliance and guides clients from the initial approach to the Dubai Financial Services Authority to the obtaining of the required licence. In addition to his claims handling experience and dispute resolution, John has considerable experience in the development of leading Financial Institution insurance products that encompass the coverage of exposures of IFAs, banks, investment banks and sovereign financial institutions. John has developed market leading products in connection with bank Operational Risk programmes. 7 Andreas Carleton-Smith Regional CEO, Middle East, Control Risks Andreas Carleton-Smith is the Regional CEO of Control Risks in the Middle East, including its offices in Abu Dhabi, Al Khobar, Baghdad, Basra, Dubai, Erbil and Islamabad. Based in Dubai, Andreas has oversight of Control Risks operations throughout the region, including its work in Iraq. He sits on the company s Executive Committee and in 2006 was appointed to the Board as an Executive Director. Andreas joined Control Risks in North America in In 2002 he was appointed President and CEO of Control Risks operations in North America, responsible for the company s offices in New York, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles and Houston. In 2006, Andreas became Managing Director of the Global Client Services division, overseeing its business development and account management functions. Before joining Control Risks, Andreas worked for an American advisory consultancy where he provided advisory services to Europe-based corporations and to the Presidents of South Africa and Sierra Leone. Andreas previously served 10 years as a commissioned officer in the British Army and Special Air Service (SAS) and was awarded the Military Cross. Cameron Murray Head of Middle East and Africa, Lloyd s Cameron is responsible for developing and implementing Lloyd s business and market development strategy across the Middle East, Turkey and Africa. He has overall operational responsibility for the region, supported by teams in London, Dubai and Johannesburg. Cameron joined Lloyd s in 2000 tasked with developing and implementing Lloyd s broker accreditation programme to widen and internationalize broker access to the Lloyd s market. He then spent three years in Asia as Lloyd s Country Manager for Hong Kong before returning to the UK in 2005 to manage Lloyd s relationships and communications with regulators around the world. This included leading dialogue on issues of regulatory policy with insurance supervisors in the 75+ countries in which Lloyd s is licensed, and spearheading market access negotiations with government and regulatory authorities in India and Turkey. Previously, Cameron held specialist roles on European insurance legislation and UK distribution and broker regulation at the Association of British Insurers (ABI). He also served a year as Special Assistant to the Director General and Secretary to the ABI Board. Cameron is a graduate of European languages from the University of Bradford in the UK. He also holds a Masters degree in Diplomacy & International Strategy from the London School of Economics (LSE). He graduated from the Lloyd s Leadership Programme at the London Business School in 2008.
