2 COMPANYWIDE HIGHLIGHTS Final audit by ASME team completed and N-Stamp certification has been recommended for the company - KBL will be the 1st company for rotating equipment to receive the ASME N- stamp. Establishment of the PMO (Project Management Office) in progress with extensive focus on detailed schedule preparation, training to project management teams and improving review mechanism and existing systems and processes related to the projects business. Ahmedabad plant commenced commercial production in June Improving quality of Balance Sheet continues to be main financial agenda. 2

3 SECTOR HIGHLIGHTS IRRIGATION Successfully commissioned the Francis Turbine Pump in Bheema LIS in AP. Contractually completed and handed over projects like Jalundara Gujarat, LAOS PDR and Six Pumping Stations in Egypt. Received certificate of completion of work from SSNNL. WATER RESOURCE MANAGEMENT Physical closure of two projects, Jaipur Bisalpur at Jaipur, and KMC Sirity Park at Kolkata. Contractual closure of two projects - Porur, Tamil Nadu, and AUDA Vinzol, Ahmedabad. Received orders from Patel Engg, Mumbai, for 76 Large Diameter Butterfly Valves for BMC. Completed erection of all 30 large Horizontal Split case pumps for BWSSB project. 3

4 SECTOR HIGHLIGHTS POWER Dispatched first Pelton turbine twin jet horizontal machine for 2x2 MW Panwi HEP. Vertical Kaplan machines commissioned in auto mode through PLC SCADA system for the 2x5.5 MW Konal HEP. Received appreciation letter from Calik Enerji,Turkey, for successfully commissioning pumps for 420 MW Navoi CCPP, Uzbekistan. GAS OIL & DEFENCE 4 offshore fire water packages delivered to ONGC. Remaining four packages to be delivered in Q2. Received first order from Cairn Energy India Pty Ltd. for trolley mounted motor driven pumps. 4

5 SECTOR HIGHLIGHTS INDUSTRY Brought about better awareness for the AutoPrime products by giving demonstration in coalfields in Northern, Central and Eastern India. Continued thrust on LLC pumps by making presentations at CII Meet, Hyderabad, by targeting the cement and steel industries in general, and Energy Auditors in particular. BUILDING & CONSTRUCTION Introduced an innovative vertical design pump in the fire fighting market that offers space saving of up to 30% to developers and shifted demand from the traditional horizontal design pump house. Booked Mumbai, Jaipur & Gurgaon Metro rail orders against major global players. Bagged India s 1st FM/UL VT from automobile institute. 5

6 SECTOR HIGHLIGHTS DISTRIBUTION Launch of 4 new pump models and the initial response from the market has been encouraging. Appointment of new dealers progressing as per plan to ensure target of 30 Distributors, Dealers and 300 retailers under project 'REACH'. CUSTOMER SERVICE & SUPPORT Separate storage / warehouse facility developed at Kirloskarvadi for spare parts made operational for faster delivery and to garner more market share. Entered into an annual rate contract (ARC) with a few large corporate customers. Thrust on the sugar industry with five seminars conducted at Pune, Kolhapur, Latur, Solapur & Ahmednagar. Introduced the 'Health Card' monitoring of large VT / CVP pumps of top 50 customers - this will enable KBL to provide after sales services in a timely manner. 6

Vertical Turbine Pumps against the first prestigious FM_UL order from Chile First Pelton turbine to Panwani HEP. BHR 60 & BHR 42-7 Pumps, RKBV 5 Pumps and Split case 9 Pumps to Portugal. 8 FACTORY HIGHLIGHTS DEWAS, SHIRWAL & COIMBATORE Coimbatore plant awarded Second best Productivity Award for the year by Coimbatore Productivity Council. Coimbatore plant achieved 4 star rating during 5S certification. Received order of 3,793 submersible pumps from Orissa Lift Irrigation Corporation. KONDHAPURI Received approvals from Cethar Vessels, EDAC Engineering and Tata Steel. Completed development of 21 models of Suction Diffuser. 8

12 Q1 FINANCIALS STANDALONE HIGHLIGHTS Cash generation of Rs. 40 crores in Q1 FY13 as compared to negative cash generation of 37 crores in Q1 FY12. Reduction in borrowings by Rs. 11 crores during Q1 FY13 Control over receivables through matching of sector wise sales with recoveries. Reduction in net current assets of Rs. 25 crores during the quarter. Income tax refund of Rs. 35 crores during the quarter. 12

13 Q1 FINANCIALS STANDALONE HIGHLIGHTS CONT D Revenue from operations is at Rs. 442 crores as against Rs.430 crores in PY rise of 3%. All sectors have crossed sales over previous year except Irrigation, and Power sectors. KBL continued to be selective with orders and execution to improve sales mix, which resulted in civil sale going down to 4% as against 13% in the similar quarter in the previous year. PBT is Rs. 11crs as against Rs. 46 crores in PY. PY includes non-operating income of Rs. 35 crores being profit on sale of investment in Gondwana Engineers Ltd. CY included notional exchange loss on foreign currency loans Rs. 9 crores as against 1.2 crores in PY. 13
