16 Core Network Corridors support the implementation of the core network synchronise investments in order to optimise network benefits focus, in particular, on cross-border sections, the removal of bottlenecks, modal integration and interoperability are multimodal and involve at least 3 Member States involve stakeholders across borders and sectors

26 The Connecting Europe Facility Projects to be financed by CEF: transport Grant focus on cross-border sections and bottlenecks for the cleaner modes of transports (Railways, Inland Waterways) Focus on projects located on the 9 trans-european Corridors, but not only Support to the deployment of European traffic management systems for a more efficient use of the existing infrastructure (SESAR, ERTMS ) Support to the deployment of new technologies and innovation for decarbonisation of transport (Electrification, LNG & intelligent transport systems)

28 Commission proposal for the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI) New Fund set up within EIB with EU budget guarantee Through loans, guarantees, sub-debt, equity instruments a very wide range of instruments With a higher risk profile than EIB loans No earmarking for transport, but 29% of the 1.300bn investments identified by the EIB/EC Task force were in the transport sector Full eligibility of European transport infrastructure under EFSI including TEN-T but also beyond, for example urban
