3 Message from Alex Watt, Treasurer: This fiscal year in December, as in years past, your LLVCC Association Budget Committee met to review the present years budget and propose the budget for the fiscal year, April 1, 2012 March 31, The Budget Committee was lead by the Board Treasurer, Alex Watt who was assisted by the past Board President, Janet Wright, and two additional, non-board, members of our community: Scotty Ray and Gordon Anderson. Joanne Quiring, the Association Office Manager also assisted. There will be adequate cash on hand at the end of March 31, 2012 fiscal year to pay the bills and still have some capital funds to work with in the new fiscal year. The Association accountant has recommended that we at all times hold $30,000 as a reserve account. The Review process: The Association income and expenses from the previous year were reviewed. Expenses for the upcoming year were estimated based on the previous year s costs. LLVCC Homeowners dues are the Associations only source of income. The Committee projected income collection and proposed expenses. The final steps were to consider how these figures could affect our cash on hand, or the dues residents pay annually and create the budget. Here is the good news. Homeowners dues remain $151/year for the next fiscal year. Dues are not payable until April 1. Please withhold payment until you receive a bill in mid March. What your $151 homeowner s dues pay for: Street lighting Security on call 7 days a week; increased patrol when needed Continual monitoring and treatment of the lake to maintain its integrity Annual fish plant Staffing of the HOA office 5 days a week Maintenance and improvements to the beach, picnic area and the playground Maintenance and cleaning of the beach restrooms Beach attendants during the swimming season Lighting and video monitoring of public spaces Fishing Derby Easter Egg Hunt Garage Sale Promotion Community Picnic Community Christmas Party Your Budget Committee welcomes your input; please contact any of us with your questions or comments. Alex, Watt, Treasurer

6 Bio for Maureen Allen Before retiring three years ago, I spent 31 years of my 42 career years at The Boeing Company working within the Quality Assurance organization. My husband, Mike, and I have been residents of Lakeland Village for seven years. I have been a volunteer at the Auburn Parks Department as a softball coach for young girls which lasted six years. I owned, managed, and instructed Polynesian culture and retail for 25 years. Eight years have been spent on the Board of Directors for a homeowner s association located in Bonney Lake. I deeply care about the care and welfare of all 4-legged family members and their wildlife relatives. I love, love, love to golf! I would like to be considered as a board member of our association and look forward to representing and serving you in this wonderful community. Bio for Mary Minnis I have lived in the Belfair-Allyn area for the past 24 years, the last 14 in Lakeland. I was a teacher at Belfair Elementary for 10 years, then a Substitute Teacher for another 8 years. During this time I also served on the Boys and Girls Club Board. Three of my grandchildren graduated from North Mason High School and I have two daughters living in the area. I believe in strong community involvement in ways to help one another and to create a safe place for our young folks to grow and get ready to take their places in the future. I am 77 years old, but still with a lot of energy to serve my community. Bio for Ed Serra: I recently retired as the superintendent for the Clatskanie School District, Clatskanie Oregon. -I am currently an instructor for City University in Washington teaching School Finance and Organizational Management, Conflict Resolutions and Negotiations, and Personnel Management and School Law. I have extensive experience working in community organizations such as Rotary International where I served as the president for East Bremerton Rotary. I was president of the Bremerton Symphony Board and a member of the Bremerton Community Learning Center Advisory Board, The Kitsap County Human Rights Commission, The North Kitsap Boys and Girls Club Board and board member for Redeemer United Methodist church in Kingston, Washington. I am a member of the Clatskanie Kiwanis Club, the American Legion Post 68 and currently serve on the Wauna Credit Union Board in Oregon. In Oregon, I was active in Columbia County, serving on the Columbia County Commission on Children and Families, Columbia County Public Health Advisory Committee, and The Columbia County Homeland Emergency Management Task Force where I served as the Vice-Chair. I believe that residents of their community need to be engaged and actively participate in their local civic and community organizations. Therefore, I desire to serve Lakeland Village as a board member
