This session will focus on the prerequisites for a functional fiscal transparency portal. Moderator: South Africa
3 Session pm PFM reforms such as Integrated Financial Management Information System (IFMIS) and Single Account (TSA) are meant to improve reporting, efficiency, budget credibility and reduced corruption. Fiscal transparency portals can play complementary role to achieve these outcomes. African countries, however, have encountered several challenges in implementing these reforms. This session will identify the challenges in developing a fiscal transparency portal and how best to address those challenges. Objective: By the end of the session, participants will understand the importance and existing challenges of implementing a centralized fiscal transparency portal.
