1 RALLYROUND NUNAWADING HORSE & PONY CLUB MARCH/2015 MARCH RALLY RESCHEDULED FOR SUNDAY, 22 MARCH CONTENTS 1/ PRESIDENT S PRATTLE 3/ LAST RALLY 8/ DC REPORT 9/ OUT & ABOUT 10/ CLUB ROSTER 11/ RALLY PLAN
2 President s prattle AGM TIME YET AGAIN and thank you to the people who have already nominated for positions; there is still time for people to nominate for committee and for other roles that need to be done at the club. Before the next rally you will receive notification of a vote that we want to take at the AGM regarding moving our fees from February to May, so that we are in line with PCAV. Please note that only riders of 18 years of age and the adult members are able to vote. Inside this newsletter is a duty roster for families which will begin at this rally. Please be aware as to when you are rostered on for duty and what your tasks are. If you are unable to do duty on your allotted day please organise a swap with someone and make sure that you let Kate know. Please note that all families have been rostered. Thank you to Kate Taylor for organising this roster, which is a thankless task. I am still looking for people to do zone duty at Yerinberg on either the 11th or 12th April. At the moment I have Rosie and I doing car parking on the Saturday beginning at 6.30 and I have Irene doing grounds duty beginning at 9am. Grounds duty involves checking the toilets for toilet paper and that they are clean, along with making sure that the bins are not full. We still need to have more people for that day. I look forward to your volunteering! On the Sunday we have cross country duty and we need to have people on two jumps. So far I have Fiona Mitchell (new member). Maybe the parents of our riders could volunteer their services as they are already there. Thank you to the people who put their name down for the Yeringberg working bees. Please let me know in advance if you are unable to make it. Do not forget that one of the requirements from PCAV is that by June this year all supporters need to have a working with children check, this also includes our riders that are 18 years of age. It is a relatively easy process to do and the details that you need to give are in this newsletter as well. As you are a volunteer it is free, the only expense is have your passport photos done if you do not have any recent ones. The committee is also in the process of getting things ready for our competition in May and we are requiring all members to help run our day which is part of our fundraising process. The new arena committee met the other week and we have our proposal that we, as the three clubs are going to put to Monash Council. It is bigger and more expensive than what we thought but it is grounded result with the future in mind. Check out the new plans on the board and Kate Taylor is going to talk briefly about it at our lunchtime meeting. Can younger and less experienced riders take note that there are a number of clinics coming up that will be of great interest to them in improving their and their horse s skills. There is a Pre 5, Grade 5 and Training Grade 4 Clinic at Kangaroo Ground PC on the 31st March and 1st April. Also on the 30th and 31st May at Lilydale/Mooroolbark PC Pre 5 through to training Grade 3 clinic. Please look at NMZ website for forms. There does need to be comments and signatures from our DC to be completed on the form before you send it in. Thank you for the feedback from our last rally. It is good for to know of the positives and the negatives. It will be a feature after every rally, so that we can strive to improve our offerings at the club. Looking forward to seeing you all on Sunday the 22nd, until then all the best. Kerrie REMINDERS: MARCH RALLY RESCHEDULED TO SUNDAY 22ND MARCH PLEASE BRING YOUR MEMBERSHIP FORMS THIS MONTH AS WELL AS FEES OR SEE JAY TO ARRANGE A PAYMENT PLAN FOR FEES. 1 2

5 DC report THANK YOU for the feedback at the end of last rally. We will be working towards improving every rally. Some feedback was conflicting of others but I will do my best to accommodate all requests or at least keep variation. Can all riders please remember to bring your certificate books. This is really important for your progression as every rally you don t have your book you fall behind or you will need to repeat. If you don t have one you can purchase them on the rally day. If you are not sure about what I am talking about please come and see me. I know many of you want to be graded at rally and have sent me messages to request the grading. Please remember to fill in the form and give it to me before rally starts. I need to brief your instructor that you want to be graded and I need the form to do it. Please note that due to the Iron man next weekend Eastlink will be closed! Please make suitable arrangements for your travel and trip times. Looking forward to seeing you all at Rally. Stephanie 7 8
