There are 17 branch locations to serve the Eastern Shore of Maryland as well as North-Central Maryland, North-Western Virginia, Eastern Pennsylvania, Virginia, Delaware, and North-Eastern West Virginia. Farm Credit supports rural communities and agriculture with reliable, consistent credit and financial services, today and tomorrow. *Numbers as of December 31,
3 Products and Services In addition to traditional loan programs, MidAtlantic Farm Credit offers a variety of financial options for those starting out in agriculture, in need of equipment, or looking to purchase a home in the country. $83 Million $60 Million Outstanding loans 2,201 Crop insurance policies $68 Million $196 Million Farm Fresh Financing This program offers financing and credit options to local food organizations and new generation farmers producers who distribute products through local food channels, such as farmers markets. Farmers who use sustainable farming practices and provide food to urban areas are also able to take advantage of this program. MidAtlantic Farm Credit has close to 400 customers in the Farm Fresh Financing program. StartRight Program Established in 2008, the StartRight Program focuses on the needs of young, beginning, small, and minority farmers. These customers have the option of enrolling in the AgBiz Masters program, an educational opportunity that teaches marketing, business plan development, and other key skills new business owners need. Crop Insurance Crop insurance is a risk management tool that is used to put a safety net under cash income. When production is low or harmful weather such as floods, drought, or hail occur, it can damage or potentially destroy your crop. Crop insurance plans protect farmers so that they can financially meet both their personal and business obligations, no matter what happens. Country Mortgages Program Created specifically for homes with some acreage, Farm Credit s Country Mortgages program offers financing solutions for land and home purchases. Depending on the customer s situation, Country Mortgages offers conventional loans, government loans (VA, USDA and FHA), construction loans, part-time farm loans, and rural lot loans. Farm Credit Express MidAtlantic Farm Credit started this program in 2000 which enables local equipment dealers to offer convenient financing or leasing options to their customers while at their location. It is now being offered by all of the Farm Credit associations in the AgFirst District (22 total). *Numbers as of December 31,

5 The Farm Credit System The Farm Credit system was founded in 1916 to provide America s farmers, ranchers and rural communities with reliable and consistent credit. Today, there are nearly 80 independently operated Farm Credit organizations across the country and Puerto Rico, each providing financial assistance to their local communities. Our cooperative structure ensures that our customers are also our owners, allowing them access to our unique profit sharing program, known as patronage. 6 The Farm Credit System structure Federal Farm Credit Banks Funding Corporation Farm Credit Administration (FCA) Board Farm Credit Council (FCC) Farm Credit Banks Farm Credit Administration Farm Credit and AgCredit Associations Member Borrowers Federal Farm Credit Banks Funding Corporation: This group sells bonds to Wall Street investors, which funds the System. The corporation is located in Jersey City, New Jersey. Farm Credit Banks: There are four primary banks in the System that fund the associations AgFirst (located in Columbia, South Carolina), AgriBank (located in St. Paul, Minnesota), Farm Credit Bank of Texas (located in Austin, Texas), and CoBank (based in Greenwood Village, Colorado). Farm Credit and AgCredit Associations: There are nearly 80 independently operated retail locations in communities throughout all 50 states and Puerto Rico, providing credit to local ag producers and rural residents. Member-Borrowers: Farmers, ranchers, rural homeowners, agribusinesses, and others who are customers of a Farm Credit association. Farm Credit Administration (FCA) Board: This board is comprised of three members, each appointed by the President of the United States and subject to Congressional approval. They are located in McLean, Virginia. Farm Credit Administration: This administration works to audit and provide regulation for the Farm Credit System. Their mission is to ensure the System continues to provide reliable credit to all of rural America. Farm Credit Council (FCC): Located in Washington, DC, this group works to advocate for the System and its member-borrowers before Congress and the Federal government. *Numbers as of December 31,
